Mia quickly turned her head back around, trying to get away from Cj quickly, especially now that she saw he had a weapon on him.
She pushed her cart quickly until she bumped into someone.
"Fuck goin on?"
She looked up at saw Messiah, who came as quickly as he could when he got Mia's text.
Messiah wrapped his arm around Mia.
"Wassup baby? You good? What happened?"
Mia was now hyperventilating, Cj was no longer behind her, and she was scared shitless after seeing his gun. She didn't want him to hurt her baby or Ava.
"He- I don't know-" Mia struggled to get out as she panted
Messiah pulled her into a hug, her face now hurried into his chest. "Baby slow down. You good ok? Just slow down and talk to me"
Mia began to cry lowly. "It was Cj... he was here harassing me.. and then he thought my baby was his... and then when I told him it wasn't he started following me and I saw.."
"You saw what Mi?"
"I saw his gun, like he was reaching for it.. I don't know" Mia said as she sniffled
Messiah pulled away and his jaw tightened as he processed Mia's words. His blood was now boiling. Not only was Mia pregnant and didn't need this kind of stress, but Cj also put his lady, babygirl, and unborn baby in danger. He wasn't letting that shit slide, at all.
"I'm just gonna go pay for this stuff an-" Mia started before Cj appeared around the corner.
Messiah turned and instantly walked up to him.
"Aw shit" Cj said as he chuckled. "So this who you been fuckin on? Mannnn this shit crazy. I gotta tell Nas bout this shit, he called it a long time ago "
Mia decided to head to the checkout lanes with Ava, not wanting her to see or hear anything that was about to happen.
Messiah towered over Cj. He was 6'5 and Cj was only 6'1.
"So what's good Messiah? You fuck on my old shit and move out here away from the smoke" Cj said as he smirked
Messiah chuckled and pulled up his shirt, exposing his Glock that sat tightly in his sweatpants.
Messiah licked his lip. "Shit was never no smoke, been fuckin on yo "old shit" since she started givin you excuses to not fuck you"
"Was all up in that shit right up under yo nose" Messiah added.
Cj clenched his jaw and reached for his gun until Messiah drew his first, pointing it at his temple.
Messiah's eyes locked onto Cj's, unflinching, as his Glock stayed steady, pressed right against Cj's temple. The tension in the air thickened, but Messiah wasn't backing down.
"Reach again, I swear to God you won't make it outta here breathing," Messiah said calmly, his voice low but sharp like a blade. His finger was just resting on the trigger, making it clear he wasn't bluffing.
Cj froze, his hand hovering over his waist, but the weight of Messiah's gun on his temple had him second-guessing. He could feel the heat from Messiah's body, the way the man's chest barely moved with every breath, while Cj's own heart was hammering in his chest.
"Man, you really gon' pull a gun on me over a bitch?" Cj spat, trying to keep his composure, but his voice shook just a little. "She ain't worth it, Messiah. You really finna do all this over her?"
Messiah's eyes narrowed, his grip tightening on the Glock, but he didn't move a muscle. His voice was calm, but the threat was undeniable.
"Aye nigga really think I'm playin' with you?" he asked, his tone colder than before. "You pulled yo shit out round my kids, ain no comin back from that"
Cj swallowed hard, his confidence starting to crack. He wasn't used to people standing up to him like this, especially not over a woman. The gun pressed against his temple was a harsh reminder of how close he was to losing everything.
"Ain't nobody scared of you, Messiah," Cj muttered, trying to hold his ground, but his voice was shaky. "This shit ain't even worth all this... I'll just—"
"You'll what? I suggest you go back to the A lil nigga. You know I'm what I'm on, and you been knew what I was bout way before the corporate shit, don't forget who you fuckin wit."
Cj took a step back, his eyes darting around, weighing his options. There was no denying that he knew about Messiah before he got into the corporate life and turned his life around. He could feel the heat from Messiah's presence, but his pride was still clawing at him.
Cj scoffed, trying to regain some composure, but the tension in the air was suffocating. "Over a bitch dawg? Ain't no need to get all bent outta shape my nigga."
Messiah's grip on the Glock didn't waver. His eyes stayed locked on Cj.
Messiah's eyes stayed cold as he stepped forward, never breaking his gaze from Cj. Without a word, he raised the Glock, then swung it hard against Cj's temple, the sickening crack of metal against bone echoing through the air.
Cj stumbled, his hands flying to his head, pain radiating from the spot where the gun hit. He gasped, his vision spinning as he fought to stay on his feet.
"Watch that bitch word" Messiah spat, the Glock still gripped tightly in his hand.
Cj's mouth hung open, blood trickling from the side of his face, but he couldn't speak. His pride had been shattered, and the sting of the blow was still fresh. He wiped at the blood, eyes burning with rage and embarrassment.
Cj didn't respond, his eyes shifting nervously as the weight of the situation finally hit him. He tried to straighten up, but he knew Messiah wasn't someone to back down from. And right now, his best move was to keep his mouth shut.
"Now get the fuck outta here lil nigga," Messiah spat, stepping back and shoving the Glock back in his waistband as he looked around, making sure no one witnessed that.
Cj hesitated for a moment, but seeing the lack of remorse in Messiah's eyes, he finally turned and walked off, his steps unsteady. His pride was bruised, his body aching, but at least he still had his life—just barely.
Messiah turned toward to leave the store, seeing that Mia and Ava were no longer by the checkout lanes, so they must've already gone to the car. As he made his way out the door, he saw Cj and some girl arguing in the checkout lanes.
She was trying to touch his bleeding forehead as Cj swatted her hand away.
Messiah chuckled and scoffed. He then pulled out his phone to make a phone call.
