"Are you sure you want to do this?"
I stare at the stack of papers on August's shitty table, "I'm sure."
"I know you want to own my sister, but isn't his a bit much? Getting her to sign this will mean you're stuck with her- there's no turning back." And she'll be stuck with me.
While Flames is busy with my father, I've finished the paperwork that details our little game. That was three hours ago.
I've even had time to pay a little visit to her new home to get good camera vision of everything.
Now, I'm sitting in August's basement, waiting for her to return with the documents I need to take down Nicholas. It's ironic how I'll use her to destroy him to win her.
This chair is hurting my ass from sitting so long in it, "Where the hell is she August?!"
August stares at the glass in his hand, swirling the drink with a smothered face, "There's nothing we can do, but wait until she arrives." He looks up from his glass, "You ignored my question."
"How long does it usually take for her to get back?" I ask in a standard tone. I can't kill August. Flames would miss him too much; that and she'd never forgive me.
August shrugs his shoulders and checks his phone for the thirtieth time in the last hour, "Don't know. It could be minutes, hours, or even days to get it." He slams the drink on the table and raises his voice, "You were the one who was fucking supposed to make sure your father catches his plane- that he won't be there. What the fuck did you expect the mission to go smoothly when he fucking arrives!?" And he finally snaps. I wondered how long it would take, or who he would snap for; I guess I have my answer.
He pulls out a cigarette and lights it between his lips. This's affecting him more than he wants it to; it's hurting him. I take a deep breath, "This plan would have gone efficiently and smoothly if Nicholas hadn't alerted my father. I thought you had the security under control?"
August stays quiet for a moment as he thinks. He takes a long puff and lets it out slowly. I know the answer to this question, but I'm wondering if August will admit that he was trained by Nicholas- that he will never be better than Nicholas.
"Shit happens," He bluntly replies, "I should have taken her out when she started hearing music; Nicholas always plays music while on a heist."
Always plays music on a heist, huh? That'll come in handy to know.
How many heists has Nicholas been on with Flames? How many times has Nicholas played music with Flames?
The clock on the wall ticks as the only thing in the room making noise while August and I stare at it in thought- like the past hour we've been here.
Flames used to love dancing- loved to dance with someone. When I danced with her, she's still having traumatic memories of me and her- not to mention what August did to her. But, I don't get what's different this time.
