2.
We showed up with a bottle of cheap vodka and bundled up in layers. We walked in and I still had yet to decide what I wanted to be tonight. Did I want to be drunk or high?
No way was I being both. With Radko and Reece's tales of cross-fadedness and my years of sobering up my crossed brother in middle school, there was no way I was touching both substances at the same time.
We walked into Erasure aka Eden Fraser's studio at 9:00 P.M. I knew Eden well—sorry, Erasure—he was best friends with my sister and brother. Well when my sister lived here and when my brother wasn't busy with tennis and wasn't graduated.
We walked through the door to see yellow lights hanging throughout the room and papers, probably decorations, that covered the walls. A plastic folded table stood to the left of us with an enormous amount of drinks. There was a brown family couch against the wall to the right that sat Radko and Reece. To the right of them, in front of a window, a yellow corduroy armchair sat Freya. She immediately noticed me and got up. Devin had set the bottle of vodka down and already started introducing himself to everyone.
"Oh my god! Cam," she enveloped me in her arms.
Freya was an interesting character. Very girly. She was a valley girl at heart and very talkative. She was another childhood friend, a friend of my father's. She also happened to be dating the brooding Erasure. I patted her back and she gave me one last squeeze and sat back down.
I went to sit down and noticed Erasure sitting below Radko on the ground drinking a beer. He sent me a two-finger wave as he gulped down his fermented drink.
"'Sup, Tiny?"
I nodded at him as I sat down beside Reece, taking the last seat on the couch. Radko barked out a laugh.
"Aww, Tiny!" He ruffled my hair and I suppressed a smile and swatted his finger out of my face.
A girl with blue high-waisted jeans and a white crop top came out of a room, probably the bathroom. She had brown hair that flowed down to her lower back and a rogue look on her face. I looked over at Reece about to ask who that was, but he was looking at her already. Not looking, staring. His eyes followed every single movement and his eyes glistened at the sight of her.
I sighed.
"Hey, Brie!" she turned her head. "Cam and Dev are here!" Radko shouted.
Erasure groaned and slapped Radko's knee. "She's right der. You don have to scream."
She sat down on the magenta couch stool right beside me.
"I'm Devin." Devin greeted her from across the couch with a small wave. Radko had his arm over his shoulders.
"Hi!" She greeted him back. She had a pretty smile. Cute. I'm gay though.
"Cam," I greeted. "I like your jeans."
"Wow, thank you." She had this charming smile and put her delicate hand on her chest.
I could feel Reece's eyes glaring a hole into the side of my head. I chose to ignore it.
"Wanna get a drink?" I asked her.
"Sure!"
We made our way to the plastic table set up with drinks. I didn't even know what to get. She noticed and took two cups and filled them with Malibu and pineapple juice.
"Here. It's good, trust."
I trusted her and took a swig with her. "Oh wow," I looked at the cup as she had a smug look on her face. "This is pretty good."
