There was no regard for Ye Wenxin's fragile state at the Qi Refining stage, nor any sympathy for her fear of death that instinctively prompted her to scream.

"Help!"

As the words left her mouth, two figures appeared in the sky: Ling Jue in blue and Long Qing'er in fiery red. Both were surprised to see Ye Wenxin still alive.

"Stop being surprised! I'm going to die here!" Ye Wenxin's survival instinct kicked in again, prompting her to shout. Ling Jue reacted first, swiftly catching Ye Wenxin in her arms.

"Finally found you," Ling Jue said, holding Ye Wenxin tightly, suppressing her tears at seeing Ye Wenxin alive again.

Long Qing'er shot Ling Jue a glare before descending.

Ye Wenxin was relieved but tried to explain. Ling Jue, however, simply gestured for silence. As she did, a group of female disciples erupted in screams, and Ye Wenxin noticed the alchemy courtyard was packed with people.

During the two months Ye Wenxin was absent, Ling Jue had started teaching.

Meanwhile, Ye Wenxin had brushed with death and still hadn't met Fairy Feng Ya.

"Everyone, continue practicing. I have something to attend to," Ling Jue said, masking her emotions with a smile, yet refusing to release Ye Wenxin.

The crowd didn't press further but craned their necks to see which lucky disciple Ling Jue was carrying so tenderly.

Ye Wenxin felt conflicted. She had never known fear because she was too strong to fear anything. But now, without her cultivation, she feared being torn apart by Ling Jue's fan club.

Regardless, she followed Ling Jue back to their courtyard.

Once inside, Ling Jue locked the door and held Ye Wenxin tightly, her emotions overflowing. She didn't ask where Ye Wenxin had been, only embraced her silently.

"I made you worry, but I'm at the Qi Refining stage now..." Ye Wenxin, not adept at emotional scenes, hoped her breakthrough would lighten Ling Jue's mood.

Ling Jue remained silent, and Ye Wenxin felt her clothes dampen with tears. Yet, she didn't press Ling Jue to admit she was crying.

Their bond wasn't deep enough for them to expose vulnerabilities or sacrifice everything for each other. They were mere acquaintances brought together by fate, but Ling Jue's tears were something Ye Wenxin would never forget.

Time passed, and Ling Jue eventually regained composure, resuming her genteel persona, hiding her feminine fragility.

This time, she didn't mind the disparity between her public identity and her relationship with Ye Wenxin. She held Ye Wenxin, listening to her recount the strange events from the past two months.

"A woman with qi deviation? A crow taking down beasts in one strike? And your body..." The tale was too fantastical. If not for the powerful spiritual energy Ling Jue sensed in Ye Wenxin, she might not have believed such a story.

But the truth left no room for doubt.

Whether Ye Wenxin liked it or not, she had to start over, experiencing cultivation anew.
