After calming little Clark's emotions, Kara began to fully prepare for the university entrance exam.
The material didn't seem difficult to her, as Kara could glance at ten lines of text and remember them perfectly.
However, more preparation was needed for the interview. For this reason, Kara and her friends practiced with a simulation at school. Two of them acted as interviewers while the other was the interviewee, based on the experiences of some upperclassmen and older sisters at the school.
Of course, the simulations often turned into farces. For example, Jennifer asked Kara how she took care of her hair and skin.
Kara, confused, had never really paid attention to such things: Should she say that sunlight was her best ally? Well, yes, basking in the sun did her good.
But if Jennifer followed her advice, she might end up getting a tan...
Dani, on the other hand, was curious about what kind of guy Kara liked or if she preferred girls instead.
Kara was left speechless: "Are you sure an interviewer is going to ask you these kinds of questions?"
—Alright, let's talk about your measurements —Jennifer joked, crossing her arms and pretending to scrutinize Kara's figure with obvious envy.
Kara raised her hands in surrender: "Okay, enough playing around."
Kara had a perfectly proportioned figure, standing over 1.80 meters tall, which was considered tall even for boys.
But it wasn't just that she was tall and slim; her waist was noticeably slender, and her measurements followed the golden ratio, which always provoked Jennifer to make sarcastic comments.
For a while, Jennifer had even wanted to move into Kara's house, eat, live, and work out with her.
Jennifer always wondered if it was the exercise that kept Kara's figure in such good shape.
However, her parents would never agree to such an idea.
In this way, the three girls began their university exam preparations, appearing tense but not feeling nervous at all.
The exam went smoothly. They had all reviewed well and completed their assignments, so their final grades were excellent. If nothing unforeseen happened, they would all pass the written exam.
However, they still had to face the interviewers.
Generally speaking, interview questions fell into two categories: questions about the university and questions about the student.
For instance, one of the interviewers asked: "Why did you choose our university?"
Kara responded confidently: "Because my hometown is nearby, and I plan to stay in the metropolis after graduating. This university is my first choice."
The three interviewers observed Kara's expression, and upon seeing her confidence, nodded approvingly.
They then asked her about her understanding of the university.
Kara had done her homework in this area, but instead of memorizing the information directly, she organized it according to her own understanding.
Throughout the process, the interviewers assessed each word. If they felt any of her answers were inappropriate or revealed immaturity, they could give her a poor grade.
Luckily, Kara didn't show any shyness. She spoke freely, relaxed, and with confidence.
Finally, the interviewers reviewed Kara's exam paper and asked her about her responses.
Kara, with her flawless memory, answered without a single mistake.
The interviewers seemed satisfied, but they couldn't announce the results right away. They asked Kara to return home and wait for the notification.
Kara breathed a sigh of relief as she stood up and exited the room.
However, she overheard one of the interviewers calling for the next candidate: "Next candidate, please. If I remember correctly, it's... Bruce Wayne?"
Kara froze. Bruce Wayne?
Many people were named Bruce. There was Bruce Banner, for instance, but the surname Wayne was quite rare. Could it be Wayne Enterprises? Was this Bruce Wayne from Gotham City?
Kara walked out of the room with a mix of curiosity and confusion. She stopped near the door until she heard footsteps approaching from the other side.
Subtly, she turned toward the sound and saw a handsome young man, with a touch of emptiness in his eyes and a hint of cruelty in his demeanor, walking toward her.
Was this Bruce Wayne?
Kara observed him closely. While most people wouldn't make the connection, Kara knew that if this was the real Bruce Wayne, then she was standing in front of Batman.
After all, Kara had read a lot about Batman, so she clearly remembered his name.
However, something in his attitude made her doubt. He had a dejected look, which didn't match the image she had of Batman.
Kara made sure to cross paths directly with Bruce, and he also looked at her, but he ultimately opened the door behind her and went in for his interview.
"What is Batman doing in Metropolis?" Kara thought. "Has Superman gone to Gotham City?"
Kara decided to set the matter aside for the moment. She wasn't interested in keeping an eye on Arkham Asylum anyway.
After her exam, Kara had to wait for Dani and Jennifer to finish theirs.
Although the three of them had applied together, the interview order was different. After Kara, it was Bruce's turn, then Dani's, and finally Jennifer's.
—Kara! I just saw the cutest guy ever —Jennifer said excitedly as soon as Kara sat down.
Kara knew immediately that she was talking about Bruce. Otherwise, Jennifer would still be gushing about him.
Dani placed her hand on her forehead, complaining: "You have no idea, Kara. She nearly made a fool of herself in front of him. But, you have to admit, he was really attractive. Did you see him?"
Kara nodded. She had seen him, but her first impression of Bruce wasn't positive. In fact, she began to wonder if this Bruce Wayne was really Batman.
Could something be wrong?
—Hey, Kara, do you not like that guy either? —Jennifer asked, noticing Kara's thoughtful expression.
Kara rolled her eyes: "You're overthinking. Don't you know me by now? Anyway, you better focus on your interview. If you're the only one who doesn't pass, Dani and I are never going to let you live it down."
Jennifer sighed but was clearly smitten with Bruce. After a few more minutes, she managed to regain focus on her preparation.
Kara and Dani exchanged glances and shook their heads, unable to help but laugh quietly.
