Karlee watched from her spot as a group of tourists entered the throne room. They had no idea what was coming. Tears were streaming down her face...not from all the people about to be killed but because she was used as a bargaining chip by her family. She was thrown away just to save Isabella...now who knows if she will ever be able to see her parents or Jasper again. She was so upset that the flowers in the gardens started to wilt, not that she knew that.

She watched silently as the group of tourists began to scream and plead for their lives as the vampires fed from them. It didn't bother her too much. I mean, sure, her family is against killing humans, but it's what vampires do. They are at the top of the food chain, plus she is friends with Garrett and he likes to play with his food. As she was watching, she subconsciously kept her eyes on Caius. She found him to be very handsome. She watches as he feeds from one human and gracefully moves to the next. She just can't take her eyes off of him. She realizes that she stopped crying and is calm again...and it was from just watching Caius. Karlee shakes her head to clear her thoughts. No. She can't let it happen. Not with Caius. She knows he is married and has been for thousands of years. She may be Caius's mate but she refuses to be a mistress. She will not allow herself to be the other woman.

She stayed in her spot in the vent and thought about what she should do. She can't be with Caius but she also can't go back home. Even if she managed to escape, the Volturi would know that she would go back to her family. They would track her down and possibly kill them. She doesn't really care what happens to Bella, but she didn't want her parents or Jasper to get killed because of her. Karlee sighed. She knew she had to stay here. There was no avoiding it...but that didn't mean she had to do everything they demanded of her. She, after all, is her own person, and she sure a hell isn't a person that will blindly follow demands of anyone, especially people she doesn't know or trust, which, frankly, fits every person in this castle.

Karlee looked down again and saw that the bodies were cleaned up, so she flew out of the vent and landed where her family once stood in front of the kings before growing back to her normal size.

"Ahh, Karlee, my dear. We were wondering when you would come back out." Aro says with a smile. "Are you okay, my dear?" He asks in concern, that Karlee can't tell if it is fake or not.

"I'm fine." Karlee monotonously says. "Can someone please show me where I'm staying?"

"But of course. Felix." Aro says

"No." Caius says as he stands up. "I'll take her."

"Very well." Aro says, waving him off.

"Come along, mia fata." Caius says as he steps next to Karlee.

Karlee just turns and walks beside him as Caius leads her through the castle with a hand on the small of her back. They were silent as they walked through the castle. Caius came to a stop in front of a large door with a C.V. on the center encrusted in gold. He opened the door and led her inside.

"You'll be staying here in my chambers." Caius tells her

"No. No way." Karlee says

"What do you mean no?" Caius asks incredulously.

"Exactly that. I am not staying in here."

"Why not?"

"Why would I?"

"You're my mate. Can't you be obedient?"

Karlee scoffs. "Do you have to boss me around? Can't you be less of a jerk?" Karlee mimics him.

Caius clenches his hands in anger but tries to control his temper. Karlee looks at him as she waits for a response. When he doesn't say anything, she smirks.

"What? Cat got your tongue?" Karlee asks and Caius snaps and grabs her before pinning her back against a wall and puts his hands on either side of her head to cage her in. Karlee looks up at him but doesn't move. She could easily get out of this using her powers, but she'd rather not expose that yet. Aro may know most of what she can do from reading Edward, but he doesn't know everything. Not even Alice knew she developed telekinesis and photokinesis.

"Let's get one thing straight, piccolo." Caius says as he leans his face in close to her own. She can feel his cool breath fanning over her face, sending involuntary shivers down her spine. "I don't tolerate disrespect. You staying here is not a request. There will be no arguments. You are staying in my chambers and that is final."

"You want my respect? You earn it. You got your wish and I am staying with the Volturi but there is no way in hell I am staying in here with you."

"You will be."

"And how does your wife feel about that? You sure she would like me staying with you?" Karlee asks.

"And how does your wife feel about that? You sure she would like me staying with you?" Karlee asks
