"And how does your wife feel about that? You sure she would like me staying with you?" Karlee asks.
Caius stiffens before dropping his arms from either side of Karlee and taking a step away from her.
"You know about Athenadora?" Caius asks
Karlee rolls her eyes. "I was raised by a family of vampires. You really think they didn't tell me about the Volturi?"
"I'm sure they had wonderful things to say about us." Caius says sarcastically.
"It was mostly bad, actually." Karlee deadpans. "Except for what Carlisle told me." Caius looks at her curiously. "But that's besides the point. The point is, you're married. I'm not a mistress. I won't be the other woman and I am not staying in here with you."
"The marriage was rendered void the moment I met you." Caius says
"I don't care."
"My marriage to Athenadora was only political. We are friends, yes, but we both knew the second either of us met our true mates that we would no longer be together."
"And I still don't care. You're married. She has no idea that you found your true mate. I don't know you and there is no way I am comfortable staying in here with you."
Caius lowly growls before sighing.
"She isn't allowed in here. She never has been. Felix will be posted outside and I will go talk with her immediately. She has been wanting to leave and travel anyway, so now she has the perfect reason to go. So just stay in here."
Karlee was annoyed and tired so she relented. "Whatever." Karlee huffs out. Caius has a small smirk. "But you better not watch me sleep, cop a feel, or sneak a peak or I will show you exactly how powerful fairies can be." Karlee says with a glare.
"Of course, mia fara."
"Now go away. I'm exhausted." Karlee says.
"Felix will be outside. Just call his name if you need anything." Caius says before he speeds out.
Karlee waits a few seconds before walking to one of the doors in Caius bedroom. She opens it and finds a large walk in closet. She closes the door and walks to another door and opens it to find a bathroom. She goes in and locks the door behind her before she turns both sinks on. She pulls out her phone and quickly calls her mom.
"Karlee, baby. How are you calling me? Shouldn't you be on the plane home?" Rosalie asks through the phone when she picks up."You mean, they didn't tell you?" Karlee asks
"Tell me what? Karlee, what's wrong?"
"They sold me out."
"What? What do you mean? Where are you?"
"Volterra...I'm still with the Volturi."
"What?!...EMMETT!!" Rosalie yells.
Emmett speeds to his wife as Rosalie puts the phone on speaker so Karlee can hear both her and Emmett.
"What? What's wrong?" Emmett asks
"Karlee is still with the Volturi." Rosalie tells him.
"What do you mean? Alice called an hour ago and said they were boarding a plane home."
"They did, daddy. Without me." Karlee says and tears begin to well up in her eyes. She doesn't know when she will see her parents again.
"What? Why?"
"They used me as a bargaining chip. Alice knew what would happen. She knew the Volturi would want me and made me come anyway. Her, Edward, and Bella traded me over to the Volturi so the three of them could leave unharmed...but Bella has to be turned or killed at some point. I didn't want to. I was against it but I don't want either of you killed, so in the end I gave in and accepted my fate. Plus I knew I wouldn't have been able to defeat all of them. Not for long enough to be able to get away, anyway."
