the reason i always say "please don't be a ghost reader" it helps me stay motivated because that means people are reading my stuff. and unlike other people, they have so many views on their books and i love to write and it just helps me stay motivated. and i know i unpublish and republish my chapters and i get thats really annoying but its annoying when i see views go up but low on votes. The echo of Johnny's shout-"Bubblegum!"-shook Arizona out of her lazy evening, her heart skipping as she registered the loud, insistent call outside her apartment. She was curled up on her couch, completely absorbed in Shameless, the TV blaring to fill the quiet of the room. But Johnny's yelling was unmistakable.

She glanced toward the kitchen to find her little brother, Diego, raiding the fridge. He was standing on his tiptoes, reaching for something on the top shelf, and for a brief second, Arizona couldn't help but chuckle. But then she remembered the voice outside and quickly jumped to her feet, pausing her show as she hurried to the door.

When she swung it open, she found Johnny Lawrence standing outside, looking as restless as ever, his eyes wide and an air horn clutched in his hand. The obnoxious sound from earlier finally made sense. He was practically vibrating with urgency, an energy that was half-frantic and half-excited.

"What's going-" Arizona started to ask, but her voice caught in her throat as her eyes drifted behind Johnny, up to the second level of the apartment complex.

There, on the upper walkway, her boyfriend, Miguel, and Johnny's son, Robby, were locked in a heated brawl. Miguel was throwing punches, his jaw set in determination, while Robby dodged, holding his ground but clearly not backing down. Arizona's heart lurched; this was exactly what she had feared. The rivalry between the two boys had been simmering for so long, and now it was boiling over again.

She whipped her head back toward Johnny, giving him a look that was equal parts incredulous and furious. "What did you do?" she demanded, practically hissing, as the panic surged through her.

Johnny raised his hands in defense, as if to brush off her accusation. "Shut up and come on!" he ordered, his voice clipped and urgent.

Arizona groaned, hastily slipping her black Converse on over her socks. She didn't bother with laces, just slipped them on and rushed after Johnny. Her heart was pounding as they sprinted toward the stairwell, her voice ringing out, "Guys, come on! You're getting too close to the edge!"

But the boys didn't hear her. They were too locked in their own world, eyes narrowed, hands clenched. Neither was paying any attention to the fact that they were inches from a deadly drop.
