I let out a small sneeze. My clothes were completely damped, and my long brown hair was tangling in front of my face, wet as well. The cold air of the autumn breeze was freezing me deep down in my bones. It's already been three months since; well, you know what. I reached into my bag, trying to reach my gourd but to no avail. My fingers trembled due to the effort, but I managed to snag my next commission out of the bag. I've been saving up some money to buy my very own home in this place and I was one commission away from being able to buy the place.

Some people who ended up here were looking for riches, fame and power, yet all I longed for was a place to call home. I ended up taking and completing so many commissions that the Adventurer's Guild imposed a limit on me out of fear for my health. This next commission consisted of gathering firewood for the winter to an old couple in town and was of such an easy nature that I wasn't worried. Over these last three weeks, I may have ached all my muscles, but I became thankful since I've gained a lot more strength and endurance from this laborious job.

However, to save up as much money as I could, I skipped out on sleeping at the inn. I was able to set up a makeshift tent in the woods and thanks to my dad taking me camping when I was younger, I was able to make a campfire when the weather wasn't too bad. The place I had my eyes set upon was an old country manor that got abandoned when much of the population of Emberacres moved towards more lively cities over a hundred years ago. Due to the lack of interest in owning such a place, it was somewhat affordable; at least in my modern point-of-view of inflated prices and though it would be utterly unreasonable of me to buy this place, I'd argue that if we were to be stuck here forever, well I'd say that allowing oneself to live their childhood fantasy of living in a castle isn't so farfetched indeed so why not make the most of this tragedy and throw caution to the wind as they say. After much internal deliberation, I've finally decided to stand up; all my muscles protesting in anger. Time to get to work.
