Tw: panic attack, fainting

_____

The tour had been a whirlwind of rehearsals, performances, and travel. The members of Enhypen were used to the rigorous schedules by now, but the pressure still weighed heavily on each of them.

Jay, as always, pushed himself the hardest. He wanted everything to be perfect—his movements, his vocals, his energy on stage. It wasn’t that he was dissatisfied with his progress, but he had set a high standard for himself.

Jungwon, the leader, had noticed Jay’s growing fatigue over the past few days. While the younger members still seemed to be adjusting well to the tour’s demands, Jay had been looking more worn down, his smile not quite reaching his eyes.

Heeseung, who often kept an eye on the group’s well-being, had observed the same thing. Jay’s usual confidence was being overshadowed by a quiet tension that seemed to build with each show.

“You okay?” Heeseung asked one afternoon, as they were in between rehearsals.

Jay looked up, startled, but he quickly masked his unease with a smile. “Yeah, just tired. You know how it is.”

But Heeseung wasn’t convinced. He didn’t push further, though. He knew Jay well enough to know when to give him space.

The members had been looking forward to the next performance. The venue was bigger, the crowd louder, and everything about the atmosphere was electric. But for Jay, that meant more pressure to perform perfectly.

When they arrived at the venue, the sheer size of it made his heart race. He tried to focus on the routine, but the sound of the audience filing in, the bright lights, the countless eyes that would soon be on him—it all felt like too much.

“Hyung, you’re looking a little pale,” Sunghoon commented during the final stretch of their rehearsal. He had been watching Jay from across the room, noticing the way his friend was breathing a little too quickly.

Jay only shrugged, trying to brush it off. “I’m fine, just a little anxious, I guess.”

The rehearsals ended, and they all retreated to their dressing rooms to prepare.

Jay stood in front of the mirror, adjusting his outfit, but his reflection seemed foreign. He could feel his pulse quicken in his throat, his chest tight. Every movement felt like it was weighed down by invisible chains.

"Hyung, we’re almost ready," Jungwon called out, poking his head into the room. "You good?"

Jay forced a smile. "Yeah, just nervous. I’ll be fine."

Jungwon didn’t press him further but gave him a long, searching look before nodding.

As the members began lining up for the performance, Jay’s nerves were reaching a boiling point. The steady hum of the crowd grew louder, and it only made his anxiety worse.

“I can’t do this,” Jay muttered to himself, gripping the edge of the vanity table. His hands were trembling, the room spinning slightly. He couldn’t focus on anything but the sound of his heartbeat thudding in his ears.

Before he could think any further, Heeseung appeared at his side, concern evident in his eyes. "Jay? You okay?"

Jay’s mouth was dry, and he couldn’t seem to find the words to explain how he was feeling. His chest was tight, and the air felt thick, like he couldn’t get enough of it.
