The rest of the week calmed down my dad was in jail for drunk driving and child endangerment at the time and my grandma and I have just been hanging out talking about school. I was more nervous than I wanted to admit but who knows it could be cool. (Monday morning).- Granny, hi baby it's time to get ready for school.-Ashlyn, what time is it.-Granny, it's 8:30 school here doesn't start till 9:30.-Ashlyn my old school started at 7 so that's a plus.-Grandma, I never asked you but would u want to be a car rider or take the bus.-Ashlyn, car for sure busses stink.-Granny, I can understand that, but don't worry ur gonna make some friends I know you will.-Ashlyn, thank you grandma. I finished getting ready and we got in the car. My grandma always listened to the radio on the way to and I liked it to the town wasn't big but the people on the talk show were funny.
My grandma dropped me off and I told her I loved her. I don't know my classes yet so I had to go to the office turns out we only have 5 classes. Math, science, history, English, and our choice of gym or art I chose art because no way am I sweating at school.-Principal so I will show u to your classes then take you to ur home room sound good.-Ashlyn, yes thank you. I was so nervous I've only ever been to one school, change is hard.-Principal, and this is home room if you need anything you know where to find me and here is ur student id to scan for ur lunch, year books, class pictures, and the library so don't lose it.-Ashlyn, thank you. I knocked on the door and my heart sank to my stomach at least I have art first. Mrs. Bethany, hi how are you today.-Ashlyn, I'm doing good.-Mrs. Bethany, that's awesome and you can sit at the back table any free seat is yours.
-Olivia, hey not that one girl, the guy that sits there sweats a lot.-Ashlyn, thanks for looking out.-Olivia, your welcome btw your new right.-Ashlyn, yeah I just movies down here.-Olivia, oh ok, well I've been here my whole life, this towns lame but it's home so I make my own fun, let me see your classes.-Ashlyn, ok here.-Olivia ooo good news your in 3 of my classes.-Ashlyn, so I'll be seeing u a lot huh.-Olivia, yeah but you seem pretty cool so I'm good with that.-Ashlyn, so what classes do we have together.-Olivia, we have science and math.-Mrs. Bethany, ok class settle down we have a new student with us today, would you stand up and introduce yourself.-Ashlyn, hi my names Ashlyn.-Mrs. Bethany, and can you tell us anything about yourself. I wasn't prepared for that and I didn't really want to share with everyone what was going on in my life.-Ashlyn, I'm good at gymnastics.-Mrs. Bethany, wow that's impressive.
My next classes were history, math, lunch, science, and English I was really scared of school before I started talked to people me and Olivia were becoming good friends and I was glad that I had a girl around my age to talk to someone who could understand the struggles of being a kid, my grandma was my friend ofc but someone on your level is just more comfortable. We shared our favorite colors and snacks and we talked about boys we thought were cute at school. And slowly as the day went on my nerves calmed down, no one was mean to me and I ended up making a friend after all. Olivia rode the bus by the way.-Grandma, hi sweetheart how was your first day.-Ashlyn, I need a nap but besides that it was pretty good all my teachers were nice and I even made a new friend.-Grandma, that is amazing baby, I'm glad it went well.-Ashlyn, I am to.-Grandma, what would you like for dinner any ideas.-Ashlyn, not really sure how about you.-Grandma, I was thinking a make us some grilled ham and cheese with some broccoli cheddar soup.-Ashlyn, that sounds amazing , we had pizza at school today.
(Meanwhile in prison).-Guard, inmate Cater Detective Lee would like to see you. Dad, now what could he want. He walked into the interrogation room and sat down.-dad, now what more can I do for you I already have 15 months in jail.-Detective Lee, because Mr. Cater you could be looking up to a lot more time. He shows him the box.-Detective Lee, have you ever seen this box before.-Dad, ughh no.-Detective Lee, this box was your wife Sylvia's box that we found under her bed. It contains a pregnancy test a photo and a letter.-Dad, who is that guy in that photo.-Detective Lee, is name is Devin Warren do you know him.-Dad, no idea, and what does the letter say.-Detective Lee, the letter was written for Ashlyn and her guardian has not given you permission to read it but I can sum it up for you.
You wife has gave up evidence physically from the bruises on her dead body that you caused them, and that she killed herself if fear of you.-Dad, unbelievable I didn't want to hurt her she just pushed me to do it I"crys".-Detective Lee, your wife also admitted that she lied to you about Ashlyn because she hoped that her "affair" would make you leave.-Dad, what are you trying to say.-Detective Lee, your wife lied to you Ashlyn is your daughter. Then he threw the DNA test results at him.-Dad, THAT LYING BITCH, my baby girl I should have know. I need to see Ashlyn I need to apologize she has to hear me out.-Detective Lee, the only thing your gonna hear is the gate closing on you when you are found guilty, I hope you can afford a lawyer.
