I think I'm losing my sanity.
Right now we're in the middle of choosing who gets to sleep where.
There are 2 single beds and a bunk bed. Obviously everyone's after the single beds.
"I should naturally get one!~ I did so much in our last game!~"
"No, I refuse to sleep on the bunk bed. It's not glam at all. I cannot sleep there."
"What? I hurt my face in the game! I should get to choose!"
As the dispute found no compromise, all three looked at me.
"What do you think, Asher?", they asked simultaneously. My patience was wearing thin. Very thin.
"I... don't... fucking care! Just decide for god's sake! Do it with rock, paper, scissors or something!"
"Oh. Right."
"Ah. Totally forgot we could do that."
There's no way they spend the last 20 minutes arguing without even considering to do things by luck?! God. Please, just send a team in. I can't do this anymore.
"Then, here we go... rock, paper... scissors!"
"Ah..."
"I won!~"
"Aryu and I are tied.. Do we play again with just us two?", Iga-guri questioned.
"I had enough. I'll take the last single bed. No discussions."
"Huh? But you didn't-"
"What was that?"
I glared at both of them which effectively shut them up."I'm going.", I told them as I already passed through the door.
"Where to?~ Can I come?~"
"No. Just stay here."
"That's not fair!~ I worked so hard in our last game!~"
I pinched the bridge of my nose as every single word exchanged with this psycho just added to my headaches.
"Fine."
Shidou jumped from his bed and grinned playfully.
"So... where are we going?~"
"I'm going to get meds for my headache."
"Maybe I can cure it with-!~"
"No."I ignored his active tries to get on my nerves as we arrived at a dispenser for various meds.
Headaches...There it is!
As I extended my arm to grab it, an eerily familiar voice reached my ears.
A lump formed in my throat.
"It's been a while, Asher. Why haven't you been visiting me lately? We haven't finished examining your leg."
Shidou's brows furrowed as he noticed my shaking figure.
"Sorry, we don't want anything to do with you.~ Who even are you?~"
"It's not your business. I'm talking to Asher.", the doctor claimed with a forced smile.
"Bullshit... I-!", as I finally worked up the courage to speak again, my voice vanished as I looked him in the face.He wore an unsettling smile that I knew too well.
"You know... I don't do too well with rebellious kids. You know what this means, don't you? Asher.", he spoke with a pressuring gaze.
"Or do you want me to involve your... friend?"
My eyes widened. He wouldn't..! Would he?
My uncertainty grew as I finally took a step forward to Shidou's dismay.
"Hey, what are you-", Shidou asked with worry evident in his voice. If you could even notice it through his usual playful voice.
"I'm going. See you later, Shidou.", I forced myself to act as normal as I could.
The doctor just smiled at my words.
"I knew you were an obedient child."He gestured for me to walk down the hallway to the right.
The doctor put his hand on my shoulder, slightly putting pressure on it.
He turned around one last time to shoot Shidou an eerie smile.
Shidou continued looking at me until the doctor and I disappeared from his view.
His face contorted into a serious expression for once.
Several questions ran through his head such as, 'Who was that man?' or 'Why was Asher so terrified?'. No matter how hard he thought, he couldn't reach an answer.
The only way for him to find out was either follow me and spy or wait until I returned to ask me.
He decided for the latter and returned to the room. Future Shidou would've definitely punched him in the face.
As Shidou returned with an unusual expression, Iga-guri and Aryu looked at him with questioning looks.
"Where's Asher? Didn't you go together?"
It took him a few seconds until he even registered the question asked by the bald monk.
"Something came up. He's coming back later."
"Alright?"
