Ye Wenxin realized she had overreacted and quickly explained, "Sorry, I left home because of this physique."

"Is that so? Then we're quite alike," Su Mei's expression softened significantly.

"When I mentioned helping, I meant we could watch each other's backs since we're in similar situations. I didn't mean anything else. Besides, dual cultivation between women is rare in this world, and even if we tried, it wouldn't be effective," Su Mei continued, explaining the unique characteristics of the Ice Body, revealing a new perspective to Ye Wenxin.

Ye Wenxin nodded, pretending to listen while her mind was on Gu Aotian, planning to push Su Mei towards him.

"If you need help, you can ask Gu Aotian."

"Why do you keep saying Gu Aotian can help? I have no interest in dual cultivation," Su Mei replied through gritted teeth, puzzled by Ye Wenxin's constant mention of Gu Aotian.

If not for the absence of malice in Ye Wenxin's eyes, Su Mei might have thought she was mocking her dependence on men.

"No, Gu Aotian will become a dragon among men. My Ice Body can sense it," Ye Wenxin said with a straight face, spinning an elaborate lie.

"Does the Ice Body have such abilities?"

"Yes, mine is pure and can sense good and evil in the world."

Ye Wenxin continued with her tale, her lies flowing as naturally as her breath.

Su Mei, rather than doubting, felt more goodwill towards Ye Wenxin for her honesty. They chatted and laughed, soon addressing each other by name.

When they returned to their resting cave, Gu Xiangsi was upset to see Ye Wenxin and Su Mei so close.

"Sis, why are you getting along so well with this vixen!"

Su Mei, never having been called that, smiled lightly, unbothered. Ye Wenxin felt helpless, thinking Gu Xiangsi was the real vixen.

When Gu Xiangsi grew older, who knew what kind of trouble she'd cause?

But she dared not tease Gu Xiangsi while she was jealous and changed the subject, "Xiangsi, come see what we found."

Hearing this, Su Mei pulled out the beast meat they had cut earlier, and everyone stared with bright eyes.

"That's beast meat, very nourishing!"

"Right, judging by the meat, it was a high-level beast. How did you manage that?"

Everyone clamored with questions, and Ye Wenxin briefly explained the situation, adding, "We can try that path tomorrow."

"But won't the beast carcasses attract more beasts? Isn't that walking into a trap?" someone questioned, confused by Ye Wenxin's plan.

"From my observations, these outer beasts don't intend harm; their king forces them to attack humans. When they see a strong foe's trail, they won't rush to their deaths," Ye Wenxin analyzed. If the beasts were malicious, they'd have climbed the trees relentlessly.

Her explanation made sense to some, and two-thirds agreed with the plan.

"Alright, rest now, I'll keep watch." With the issue resolved, Ye Wenxin stood at the cave entrance, intending to watch through the night.
