Gemini walked into the club, a dark and unapproachable aura radiating from him. Anyone sober enough could feel the weight of his anger, and instinctively, people moved out of his way. On either side of him were Prom and Perth, their faces taut with tension as they flanked him protectively. They knew better than to question him when he was in this mood, but they weren't going to let him go in alone either.
"You sure you're okay going in alone?" Perth asked as Gemini reached the door to the VIP room they'd reserved. His voice was low, cautious, but Gemini only nodded in response.
They had finally uncovered the culprit behind the scandal involving him and Fourth—a scandal that had invaded their privacy and spread like wildfire. This time, Gemini didn't want Janhae to deal with it. He needed to confront the woman behind it himself, to look her in the eye and demand answers.
The situation had gone far beyond a trivial rumor. People on social media were piecing together snippets of their lives, sharing speculative posts and photos. Worst of all, Fourth couldn't come to his house because of the prying eyes and cameras that lingered there. Some people even claimed they'd spotted him at Gemini's condo, fanning the flames of gossip.
It had only been two days since they'd been able to be together, but it felt like an eternity. Gemini's frustration grew with every minute he couldn't be with Fourth. He missed him—the sound of his laughter filling the empty spaces, the warmth of his presence tangled in his bed. Not being able to see him was driving him crazy.
He knew this woman well, another figure in the business world. Their fathers were friends, and she had always been interested in him, subtly pushing for something more. She'd suggested that they spend time together, with clear insinuations of what she wanted.
But Gemini had long avoided getting involved with women from his industry. He knew they could twist a single night into leverage, claiming attachment to him to further their own interests. He preferred the anonymity of ordinary encounters, knowing that, worst-case scenario, Janhae could smooth things over with money.
Tonight, he was here to confront her, to demand an explanation, and to make it clear that she had crossed a line she could never step back from.
As soon as Gemini stepped into the VIP room, he spotted her seated comfortably, her legs crossed, exuding a smug confidence. He barely concealed the disgust on his face as he took in her appearance.
Her dress was unnecessarily revealing, exposing her shoulders and legs, and her overpowering perfume filled the room. Did she think dressing like this made her look good?
In his mind, there was no comparison—Fourth was far more beautiful, and his scent was subtle and sweet, lingering pleasantly without suffocating the senses.
"You're here," she said, her tone tinged with mock surprise. "I didn't know I'd have to start a rumor just to get you to come see me."
She admitted it before he even had a chance to confront her. Unfazed, she met his cold gaze, daring him to react. Gemini settled into the seat across from her, his expression unwavering, refusing to give her the satisfaction of a response.
"Why would you do that?" he finally asked, unable to hide the contempt in his voice as he lowered his gaze, unwilling to look directly at her.
"I told you. To get you to meet me," she replied, her tone sickeningly sweet.
"That was important enough to go this far?" Gemini's jaw tightened as he struggled to contain his anger. The scandal she'd stirred up had disrupted everything—she had crossed a line, all for her own selfish motives.
She laughed, unbothered, crossing her legs again and leaning back in her seat. "Would you have come if I'd just asked? Wanted to meet you? Of course not." Her voice held a dark amusement, as if she knew how impossible it would've been for her to get his attention any other way.
