It was a busy Friday night at the cafe, and 25-year-old waitress Lily was rushing around trying to keep up with all the orders. She had been on her feet for over 8 hours already, and she could feel her energy starting to wane.

As she dropped off the last plate of food to a group of rowdy college students, she let out a long sigh. "Alright everyone, I'm headed out for the night. You all have a great weekend!"

A few of the regulars at the counter called out to her. "Heading home to that little girl of yours?" asked Frank, a kind older gentleman who came in every Friday for his usual cup of coffee and slice of apple pie.

Lily smiled. "Yes, I can't wait to see my izzy. She's been asking for me all week."

"Well you give that sweet girl a big kiss from all of us, you hear?" chimed in Doris, the sassy older woman who ran the register.

"I sure will," Lily replied. She quickly grabbed her jacket and purse from the back and headed for the door. "Bye everyone, have a good night!"

As she walked out into the cool evening air, Lily felt a wave of relief wash over her. The cafe could be exhausting, but knowing she got to come home to her precious 2-year-old daughter made it all worth it. Izzy was the light of her life, and Lily cherished every moment they got to spend together.

Lily picked up her pace, eager to get home and scoop Izzy up in her arms. She could already imagine her daughter's bright smile and the way she would squeal with delight when Mommy walked through the door. It had been a long day, but this was the moment Lily lived for.
