E P I G R A P H

The right person, the wrong time.

The right script, the wrong line.

The right poem, the wrong rhyme and a piece of you,

that was never mine.

It's Kimberley's wedding day and Cheryl should know better, but the heart wants what it wants. And hers has wanted the same woman since she set eyes on her. Kimberley is the right person at the wrong time, Cheryl knows this, but can't bring herself to hear her best friend say I do.

Alouders — veeery long time no speak! Whether you guys remember me or not, I'm unsure, but I wrote (mostly Chim fanfiction) and went by usernames oh my walsh, love is pain, and chims real.

It's been roughly eight years since I left the fandom and in that time, so much has happened with the girls — good and bad, the latter we all carry heavily in our hearts.

During my time in the fandom, I wrote a loooot of fanfiction and I can see, many still do; especially following the recent tour and live performances. Consider it FOMO, I guess, but I'm back and willing to rewrite—much shorter versions—the fanfics I poured so much time and effort into. The fans who read my work (Handwritten, Take Me or Break Me, Vulnerable) were some of the first people who made me believe in myself and my creativity. These days, I'm still writing — you're welcome to follow me, I'm emilycatewrites here on Wattpad, Instagram, and Twitter — though now, I'm working on original material.

Perhaps it seems strange to rework fanfiction from a fandom I'm no longer in, but with over 200k reads on a fic posted on GAM, I must've been doing something right?! I'm using this fanfic, and perhaps following ones, as somewhere to practice my writing, but I hope you enjoy reading as much as I'm enjoying reminiscing. Let's catch up in the comments! 🫶🏼
