~~~Hudson's pov~~~
I grab our dishes and rinse them off then put them in the dishwasher.
I personally like to hand wash the dishes since that's what I did growing up, but sometimes when I'm tired after work or just want to spend time with the girls, I use the dishwasher.
Once I turn on the dishwasher and reach into the paper bag that held our Chinese food and grab 4 fortune cookies.
I toss them to the girls as I walk into the living room and we all read our fortunes.
I swear every time we have our Chinese food Fridays, it feels so nostalgic since that's what Lexi and I would do.
I look over at Lexi helping Liv read her fortune and I can't help my heart feeling so full.
The love of my life is back home and she's with my daughters.
After the girls finish their cookies they stand up and stretch.
"Alright, we're going to head to bed. Love you guys, have a good night" Piper came over to kiss my cheek then Liv followed.
I blink multiple times at my kids because it's only 7:30 on a Friday and I let them stay up later on the weekends.
That's weird.
I turn to Lexi who's looking at me weird. "I usually let them stay up late on the weekend so for both of them to say they're tired is odd"I explain.
"Ohhh, ok. I was wondering why you had a weird look on your face" She said.
"Yeah, maybe they're tired from the snowball fight."
"That's probably it, especially since we kicked your ass" She smirked.
I roll my eyes. "I don't know about that, especially since I wasn't the one with soaked clothes."
She narrows her eyes. "I didn't dress for the snow" She said.
I poke her side. "Excuses" I tease her.
She pokes me back and settles back in her seat knowing better than to start a spaz war.
She turns to me, not paying attention to the movie playing. "So fill me in on what's been going on in your life" She said.
I turn my body in her direction. "How far back we talking?"
She shrugs. "How about after everything went down" She suggested.
"Ok, but I hate to break it to you, nothing exciting happened."
"I don't believe that" She said.
"It's true. I'm construction worker by day and a single father by night. My Fridays consist of what you saw. Very rarely do I go out because I'd rather stay at home with the girls or hangout with my family."
It's sad, but it's true, plus I was never one to go out anyway so that hasn't changed.
"I'm assuming you haven't dated since the divorce then?" She asked.
I shook my head. "Nope. I wasn't looking for anyone and I'm not into one night stands. Not saying it's bad or anything for anyone who does... But it's just not for me and I also don't want to date someone for a little while and it doesn't work out. I have my daughter's to think about so I have to be smart about who I choose to be a part of my family."
Plus there's only one person who'd I choose to be apart of my family and I looking right at her.
She nodded. "I can understand that, especially since you don't want them getting attached to someone who might not be permanent" She said.
