"Hmm, it is... by the way, why did you skip school today?" Aarvi asked, raising a brow as they sat outside a coffee shop with ice cream cones.
"It's obviously boring there! My best friend was absent too, so I thought-why not call my sweet sister to pick me up? And now here we are... enjoying your treat," she added with a cheeky wink.
Aarvi stared at her in disbelief when suddenly-a familiar voice rang out.
"You... you alright?" Advik rushed toward them, panting.
"Ye-Yes, we are. What happened to you? Why are you huffing? Is everything okay?" Aarvi asked, confused.
He paused, caught his breath, and replied, "No, I... I was just passing by and saw both of you."
Aarvi nodded slowly, while Charvi smirked. They both turned to look at her, and she raised her eyebrows mischievously.
"So... are you going home now?" Advik asked, trying to break the awkwardness.
"Yes, we are," Charvi responded quickly.
"And... how exactly?"
"Why don't you just drop us home without asking so many questions... Jiju?" Charvi teased, grinning wide.
"No-no thanks, our car will be here soon. Charvi, shut up," Aarvi muttered, visibly embarrassed.
Advik chuckled and guided them toward his car. Charvi ran ahead while Aarvi regretted every life choice.
Inside the car, Advik's phone kept buzzing, but he ignored it. After reaching their home, he opened the door for them like a gentleman. Aarvi's uncle noticed them and welcomed him inside.
Soon, he was seated inside the living room, surrounded by Aarvi's family. Her mother smiled warmly at him. "So, son, how are the wedding preparations going at your place?"
Advik replied with his usual dimpled smile. Before he could say more, his phone rang again.
"It's okay, go ahead and take the call," Aarvi suggested gently.
He excused himself and stepped aside.
"Wow! Such a brave man you are, Mr. Advik Arora," an unfamiliar voice echoed in his ear.
"Why?" Advik snapped, voice laced with warning.
"You know me well, don't you?" the caller chuckled. "Stay away from her. This is between you and me. Don't drag her into it."
"I swear, if you even think about-"
"Oh my, didn't you enjoy it? Wasn't it all just for fun?" The line went dead.
Advik stood still, breathing heavily. Aarvi's uncle appeared at the door. "Everything fine, son?"
Advik nodded stiffly. "Yes, just some work." He quickly took his leave.
