Hudson takes Liv's hand and we walk over to the counter where you can rent the skates.

Hudson gets his, Liv's, and my skates.

"Hey Hudson... Do you think you could get mine too? I don't think I brought enough money today" Kelly whined.

I see his muscles immediately tighten.

"Unfortunately I can't. I only brought enough me, Lexi, and Liv, and a little extra for some refreshments, but not enough for another pair of skates, sorry" He said pissing her off.

She turns to me. "Why don't you give me your skates" She said.

Is this bitch for real?

I know I may be sounding selfish since this is a day to spend time with her daughter and I would give up my skates if she was someone different, but she's not and I'm not playing her game.

Hudson and I both know that she'll play this so she doesn't have to use her own money and when nothing works she'll miraculously find enough money.

I give her my best fake concern expression since I don't want Liv to see I'm purposely dissing her mother.

"I'm sorry, but we're not the same size so you won't fit in my skates, but we can wait for you here if you want to go to the bank and use the ATM."

If looks could kill you, I'd be 6 feet under right now.

Her mouth tightens and she digs into her purse and pulls out a $20.

"Oh look, I guess I do have enough" She announced making me use all my self control to not roll my eyes.

While she gets her skates we sit down and put on our own.

Hudson helps Liv then he helps with mine because I can't get it that tight.

He leans in close to me. "Not surprised she pulled that shit" He whispered.

"With you I'm not, but I was surprised she asked me given how much she doesn't like me" I whispered back.

"Me too" He whispered.

He pulls back and he looks at my lips then gives me a smile and helps me tie my other skate then helps Liv.

Yup, I'm definitely making a move later.

Kelly comes back over and sits on the bench next to Hudson.

"Could you please tie my skate for me?" She bats her eyelashes at him.

"I'm sorry but I'm tying Liv's skate, but it's easy. All you gotta do is tie it like you would your shoelaces" He turned her down.

He's already tied Liv's skates, but he's pretending to tie them again just so he doesn't have to deal with Kelly.

You can practically see steam coming out of her ears.

She huffs and ties her skates then we all stand up and walk over to the rink, getting Liv a skating aid thingy to help her skate, basically it looks like a walker with actual sides.

Kelly goes with Liv and Hudson and I hang back.

"Holy fuck that woman is driving me insane and we've only been here for 20 minutes if we're lucky" He said.

I bump my shoulder into his, but that makes me go a little off balance so I clutch onto side.

He comes over to me and grabs onto me. "If this is your way of telling me you wanted me to hold onto you, then all you had to do is ask. There's no reason to fake almost falling" He smirked.
