THE EVENING AFTER joeys birthday every single person had stayed home due to the banging, nauseating hangover.
joey woke up to an empty house, again.
she was pretty sure sam had spent the night at tilly's and to be honest she couldn't dig deep enough into her mind to find out where her aunt and uncle were.
so the girl sat herself gently on the couch as she watched no strings attached, a bowl of mac and cheese in front of her and a dr pepper in one hand.
the movie that played out was picked at random and she literally doesn't even remember
choosing it.
the flashing memories from last night coming and going in little snippets of lightning.
munching down on her food she giggles at some scenes that made her smile and ignoring the pounding headache she currently has.
colby brock stood in the doorway of the golbach house as he walks in.
his words from last night haunting him like a bad dream and the throbbing pain in his fist shocking him ever so often.
he saw as she sat with her legs up to her chest and chewing on some mac and cheese that was definitely burning her mouth at the way she was eating.
a grin appears on his face as his eyes softened from the bad memories to the angel sitting in front of him.
the pain in his fist going away and the pain in his chest began.

colby brock needed to tell joey lilac how he felt.
if he kept this big of something to himself he was sure he wouldn't make it out alive.
it was eating him up and everyone around him would start to notice.
"oh hey." joeys soft voice broke him.
she noticed the boy standing by the door as she sat on the sofa.
he smiles almost instantly at the sound of her voice a little raspy and muffled.
"hey tulip." his voice was heard as he walks near her.
"how are you?" he asked gently as he sat down watching as she paused the movie and turned her full body to him.
"fine, a little nauseous but that's normal." she giggles tilting her head to the side.
"yeah." he nods back.
"what're you watching?" his eyes go to the tv shining in the living room.
"no strings attached." she replied.
"ah it's like a friends with benefits movie." colby remembers with a sly grin.
"yeah.. honestly i wish more of these existed." joey takes another bite of her food while adding.
"i think your just horny and lonely." colby couldn't even help the loud laugh that came out of his mouth.
"as if!" she screams not even trying to hide the fact that it was incredibly true.
"i'm being serious.. friends with benefits should be normalized." she informs with a shameless shrug.
"oh really?" he looks at her teasingly making the girl roll her eyes.
"yes really."
"no feelings at all just plain sex." she explains her eyes going back to the screen while shrugging.
"it should be normalized, like asking someone to play tennis."
"tennis?"
"yes! tennis. like if i ask someone to play tennis it should be just as simple to ask someone to have sex with me." the girl giggles making him roll his eyes at her.
