Coroika Post-Apocalypse (Slow Updates)

The scientists.

Marina adjusted her glasses as she looked through the microscope.
"Mmm... Still nothing..." She muttered.
Specs nervously lifted his glasses, "w-we're getting nowhere..."

This was a secret lab in Inkopolis in the old Grizzico building, God knows how it was the most hygienic place at that point despite it not being hygienic in any way. A few select squids, octolings and even jellyfish would hide there to try and research the inkblot to find a cure. The only people that weren't one of the 'scientists' that knew the secret research (and I'm saying scientists in quotes because half of them weren't even professionals) was Pearl, Emperor and Prince because Marina had to tell them.

The rusty grates were down in front of the Grizzico entrance to protect themselves from the inkblot and the researchers were all in the backroom where all the Grizzico secrets were but... They were the least of literally everyone's concern. The whole place smelt like gone off salmon and the temperature was chilly. There was a little chatter between the scientists but it was a white noise for Marina, she liked having sound in the background as she worked. The microscope she was looking through had a little petri dish that they had managed to get a drop of the inkblot ink on, however, the ink was so opaque that she couldn't get anything.

"We need a blinding light underneath or something..." Marina sighed, eventually lifting her head after receiving nothing.
Specs lightly ran his hand along the net that was hanging from the ceiling that used to hold golden eggs.
"R-really? Not more research... I-I need to see my friends... But I don't even know if they're alive..." Specs said in his jittery voice.
He slowly walked towards his little corner and grabbed a creased photo that laid on the stained counter. It was of his team and it was a bright and colourful day. Bobble Hat was in the front - being the one taking the photo - with her usual beautiful grin on her face, Headphones stood slightly behind but also next to her with a casual smile on her face, holding her charger over her shoulder and Goggles' head was on top of Specs' tentacles with his goofy look on his face. The picture almost brang him to tears.

Marina placed a hand on his shoulder, "ah, team goofy... Emperor told me Goggles is still alive..."
"I know that! But I still worry about his health, I wish I could see him... But even Emperor and Pearl don't know where they actually stay... And the girls... No one has heard from either of them..." Specs sighed, "I want to know where they are..."
Marina eventually took off her glasses, "well, I was about to leave to see Pearl, maybe coming outside and chatting with Emperor would help?"
Specs shook his head, "I have a lot to do, go see your fiancée, I can even take over some of your work, okay...?"
"If you're sure..." Marina smiled before scurrying away, leaving her lab coat on. She snatched her splatbrella on the way out and ventured out into the dilapidated remains of the city.

Marina walked into the trailer, expecting a hug from her fiancée but that wasn't what she got. Instead everyone seemed to be in the bedroom. She hurried into the room before noticing they were trying to nurse Prince. He was laid in the bed, looking really out of it.
"B-Bad time...?" Marina reluctantly spoke up.
Pearl flinched at the sound of her voice before immediately running to her.
"Prince collapsed and he's awake now but we need some sort of medication because he said he has a killer headache but we're running low on medicine!" Pearl quickly vented.
Marina just tilted her head before searching in her pockets and pulling out some painkillers. Pearl snatched it from her before Emperor snatched it from her before Laceless snatched it from him, giving Prince a few tablets. Sure, Prince had to dry swallow them but it was better than nothing.

The others let Prince rest and left his room apart from Laceless who stayed with Prince. They sat at the table on the horrible cushions and Pearl finally stopped chewing on the gum and spat it out.
"Did you happen to see Goggles or anyone? Specs is getting really anxious..." Marina asked.
"Rider and Goggles popped by to get food." Pearl shrugged before remembering the necklace and ran to get it.
"Do you know anything about where they are staying at the moment?" Marina asked again.
Emperor shook his head, "he mentioned an Ammo Knights."
"Ammo Knights, huh?" Marina muttered.

I'm still gonna work on this story because I really love it but idk wether I wanna make my own mcsm season 3 story or an Aviators x Skull 😅
