"And cut! Perfect take! Good job, Net!"

I smiled and bowed respectfully to my director, taking my leave. I only had 4 scenes today and was done with them all by 2 pm. I grabbed my bag and was making my way out to go meet Teresa to plan Jes's surprise party when my phone rang. It was P. Jes on the other line.

"Hello Net, are you busy?"

"No, P. What's up? I just ended my filming."

"The photos from the shoot are ready. Was wondering if you are free. Do you want to come by to see them, or do you want me to email it to you?"

"Oh, that's nice to know P! I would really want to come see it, but I am meeting Teresa in a bit. Could you email it to me instead? I will take a look later."

P. Jes agreed and hung up the phone. I went off to see Teresa, and we planned and went over some of the details for P Jes's party.

As we finally kept away the laptop, I looked over at Teresa, who was enjoying her milkshake.

"Teresa, can I ask something?"

"Yes, Net, ask away."

"If P Jes was to go back to Kyunn again, would you be really very angry?"

Teresa looked at me, her usual soft look replaced with a hard, angry one.

"Do you even know why I hate her so much? She caused my brother to be a shell of his former self for a good 5 years! And she... she just happily led her life as she wanted. And left my brother to pick up the crumbs of their failed relationship. I would never agree to letting P Jes date her again!"

"I understand Teresa.. P Jes had told me on what had happened. I am with you too. I honestly feels he deserves better than her but I can see he seems to still nurse a lot of feelings for her and she seems changed. Shouldn't his happiness be a priority?"

Teresa looked at me fiercely. I have seen this look of hers a few times before. She may be fierce but means well. She opened her mouth to say something but fell silent.

Finally she looked at me.

"His happiness means the world to me. But I don't know if it's with her. And I cannot afford to let him take the risk again."

I didn't say anything, knowing Teresa was right. Even though I didn't know P Jes that well, I knew even I wouldn't want him to be risking it with Kyunn again.

"I hope you didn't think wrongly of me Teresa. I was just curious because I also want your brother to be happy that's why."

Teresa just patted my hand, assuring me she wasn't upset with me but also said she didn't want to talk about this again. I nodded. We decided to go grab an early dinner too and were making our way to a bbq place when P Jes called her. She told him she was with me and invited him out for dinner too. He agreed and about 30 minutes later, joined us.

"Hello P Jes."

"Hello Net. How are you? I emailed the photos to you already."

"I look at it once I'm home P. I was with Teresa the whole afternoon."

P Jes nodded and we tried to find a table, finally spotting a 4 seater. I sat down, thinking either I would be seating alone or Teresa joining me but P Jes slipped into the seat next to me instead.

Dinner was an enjoyable affair and over the meal, I learnt so much more about P Jes. He was definitely no fan of vegetables and absolutely detested them. I watched how his face wrinkled everytime he saw it and grimaced when Teresa placed it on his plate.

I looked at him and when Teresa was not looking, I quickly took the vegetables and put it on my own plate. P Jes smiled at me cheekily and thanked me softly. I just put my finger to my lip and indicated it to be a secret between us.

Teresa's friend called her and she stepped away to take the call. I was busy grilling the meat when I accidentally scalded myself.

"Shit!" I cried out softly. "Shit. Are you ok? Show me your hand now!"

P Jes took my hand gently in his. He called the waitress to bring over an ice pack and placed it gently on my wrist.

"Put some calamine lotion or aloe vera on it once you are home, ok?"

I nodded.

"Be more careful Net. I will do the grilling. You just sit back and eat ok?"

"What happened?" Teresa cried out when she saw my reddened wrist. P Jes filled her in and she tsked at me, asking me to stay away from the grill. I just nodded my head sheepishly and sat back, as both siblings grilled the meats and I just ate happily.

Once we were done with dinner, Teresa said her boyfriend was coming to pick her up. We saw her off and P Jes turned to me.

"I will send you back home, ok?"

I was about to reply him when his phone rang. It was Kyunn. He looked at his phone and then at me apologetically. I told him to go on and answer it. He answered the phone and over the course of his call, I realized Kyunn wanted to meet him.

However, to my surprise, P Jes rejected her and said he had plans already and hung up before she could say anything.

"If you want to meet her, go ahead. It's fine."

Just then an unreadable expression came over P Jes's face. Then he finally replied with a quiet voice, 'No. Some people are a thing of the past and they should stay there."

I looked at P Jes stunned. Clearly, something must have happened, but he wasn't telling me. I just nodded, accepting his ride back home. I got into his car, and the ride back home was a quiet but comfortable one.

I alighted and turned to look at P Jes.

"Thank you for the ride, P. Please get home safe, na."

P Jes nodded and smiled as he took off. I just stood there; watching as his car went off. For the first time in weeks, I finally felt that P Jes and I were becoming more like friends than just colleagues.
