It is 1950 in an independent India but still the sense of freedom is far away from the heart of many people. Many people still want to bind themselves in the shackles of backwardness, orthodox and evil society.

Anirudh the eldest son of Zamindar Binoy Roychowdhury is heading towards Kolkata by train. He is only 23 years old. He got a new job as a lecturer in the Culcatta Law College. He is a London returned Barrister. The train started, Suddenly a girl may be 17 or 18 years old barged inside. Her hair was messy, some hair stands were falling on her face. She is wearing a yellow saree. She has Kohl in her eyes, her lips are rosy red. She has a bright dusky skin tone, in sunlight she was glowing. She was panting.

Girl : Sukar hain train nahi chuti.

She kept her luggage and sat on her seat. The girl looked at him and asked him...

Girl : Aap kaha ja rahe hain?

Anirudh was hesitant to answer but he did....

Anirudh : Kolkata....

Girl : Aapke pas kuch khane ko hoga?

Anirudh was really taken aback by this question. He was not expecting this. Anirudh just nodded and gave her the tiffin box. It has luchi and Alur dom. She took two luchis and some alur dom, then gave him back the tiffin box.

Anirudh : Are are aap khayiye.

Girl : Aapka khana hain aap hi nahi khayenge toh kaise hoga. Waise bhi aapne mujhe khana diya ushke liye sukriya.

The girl started eating the food. Anirudh was curious now.

Anirudh : Bura na mane toh kuch puchu?

Girl : Ehi na ke main akeli kyun hu? dour kyun rahi thi? Khana kyun nahi hain mere paas?

Anirudh nodded. The girl took a deep breath.

Girl : Ghar se bhaag ke ayi hu.

Anirudh widened his eyes.

Anirudh : Kya?

Girl : Sawal galat hain. Poonchiye kya nahi kyun

Anirudh : Kyun?

Girl : Mere gharwale zabardasti meri shaadi karwana chahte the aur mujhe padna tha. Toh main bhaag gayi. Pichle do din se bhaag rahi hu. Aab Kolkata jayungi. Wohipe aapna college ki padhai poori karungi.

Anirudh was very much impressed by her.

Anirudh : Waise naam kya hain aapka?

Girl : Bondita.... Bondita Das aur aapka?

Anirudh : Anirudh Roychoudhary.... Main bhi Kolkata mein hi rahunga agar kabhi koi bhi zarurat ho toh aap iss thikane pe aa jana.

He took a paper and wrote an address. Bondita took it.

Bondita : Par main aap pe bharosa kyun karu?

Anirudh : Eh baat toh mujhse khana mangne se pehle sochna chahiye tha aapko.

Bondita bit her tongue in embarrassment. He smiled awkwardly. The rest of the journey they didn't talk much. When they reached Kolkata Anirudh helped her to get down with her luggage. She bid him goodbye and went from there. Anirudh also left for his house. But Anirudh was thinking about bondita.

Anirudh : Ushki ankhen bohot sundar thi.

Anirudh blushed in his mind.

Anirudh : Bhagwan kare main usse phir milu.

Anirudh joined the college just to avoid his wedding. His family was pressuring him to marry Soudamini but he never really liked her and he knows neither did she. So he chose to come to Kolkata.
