The above track is on the playlist I am compiling for Jax to Lily Mae

Lily Mae

Wow, watching Eleanor strutt her stuff for Jax is the most hilarious thing ever. I swear to God, if she wiggles her booty anymore it is going to land on the ground at my feet. Jax turns and gives me a wink as Eleanor takes his arm and folds hers into his.

I have to stifle a laugh because she is for a start much older then Jax and I, and secondly she is making a big fool out of herself. And her voice has risen to some kind of girlie-sickly decibel. What does she think she is now the chief Cheerleader of the Jax McCoy fan club?

My brother Wes follows behind me and catches me up as I watch Eleanor trying not to sink into the ground once we leave the path to the big house, and on to the stony-gravel path that leads to the stables and the paddocks we will use.

"Is she for real?" Wes asks moving his hair off his face with his hand and then placing his battered, brown suede cowboy hat back on. I laugh, not loud enough for Eleanor to hear me, however.

"It looks that way. Seriously, Wes I have no idea what has gotten into her, she's making a tit of herself."

"You can say that again, Sis. Oo, Jax let me tuck my arm in yours," he says taking the royal piss out of her.

"Ssh, she'll hear you," I berate him and slap his arm. Wes playfully knocks into me.

"Cool it, she can't hear a thing, she is all ears for whatever bullshit Jax is feeding her. Shouldn't you be walking alongside her and filling her in?"

"Nah, let Jax do it. At least this way she will hang off every word he says," I can't help checking out Jax's perfect butt in those tight, worn Wranglers he is wearing right now. And the way his broad shoulders fit his tight T-shirt is making me having a panty melting moment myself.

"You still like him, huh Lily Mae?" Wes is looking at me like he is studying me.

"Not like that, we were over a while ago, but you know it's cool we are still friends. I like that for us. Maybe we were never meant to be."

"Oh come off it, Lily Mae, you gotta be shittin' me, right? The way you look at him and I caught you checking out his ass," he sniggers. I shove him.

"Aren't you supposed to be up at paddock one to show her the set up, where the stands will be, and running through the horses with her?"

"Like you said, Sis I think we should leave it all to Jax. It strikes me that prissy Eleanor isn't interested in anything we say."

"Take your top off and start moving some hay bales around over in the paddock area, she'll soon notice you." I tell him. Wes opens his eyes wide like I have told him to shoot some kind of wild porn movie or something.

"Say what?"

"You heard, I think if we douse her with enough cowboy porn she might just get off my back. It could work," I bite my lip and furrow my brow. I mean, everyone loves a sweaty cowboy with their shirt off, displaying their ripped abs and bulging biceps, the enticing V down pointing down to their glory covered nicely by their low slung jeans. Don't they? And let's face it, Eagle Ranch does have some beautiful looking cowboys, Jax isn't the only one she can ogle at.

Wait, am I getting jealous of Eleanor being this close to Jax? No freakin' way! Seriously, I think I might be feeling a tad envious of the way she is being all coquettish with him, throwing her head back, laughing, hanging off his arm, swaying her hips. I mean I know she is a few years older than me, but she is a woman and she is giving Jax all she's got right now. Then he looks down at her, lowers his head slightly and whispers in her ear. IN. HER. EAR! What the hell is that about?

I watch as Eleanor throws her head back and laughs out loud. Right, that is enough. It's about time we rustle up some other cowboys for her to admire. "Wes, I'm being serious. Go do some heavy lifting with a couple of the cowhands and make yourselves look pretty."

"What the fuck, Lily Mae you cannot be serious?"

"Deadly serious, make yourself useful." He glares at me.

"What? You love getting your kit off ordinarily, every time my bestie comes close you find an excuse to get half naked," I tell him with my hands on my hips, but my eyes closely on Eleanor and Jax.

"No I don't, that woman wouldn't even know what to do with a cowboy like me."

"Ha, she'd eat you alive for breakfast, Wes is what she'd do with you. More like you wouldn't know what to do with a woman like her."

"You're jealous ain't ya, Lily Mae? Jealous of your boss trippin' all over your man." Wes starts laughing, too loud as it happens causing Eleanor and Jax to glance our way.

"Everything alright back there?" Jax asks, glancing between my brother and I.

"Oh, yeah nothing you need to worry about. Having a good time with Eleanor?" What the hell, why did I just blurt that out? Jax frowns then realizes my green eyed monster has arisen from the depths of hell. His lips turn upward.

"Lily Mae, this man is incredible, the knowledge he has all about Eagle Ranch that he's been sharing with me. Well I never, all the history from way back when it was your great grandpa's. And the plans for the charity event. I didn't realize how Jax was so heavily involved. We may need to put him on payroll."

My mouth drops open, quickly I remind myself to pick my jaw up off the ground as Wes chuckles beside me. Bitch, God right now I want to drag her by her hair then push her forward and slam her face down into the earth. I clench and unclench my fists. And why the hell is Jax getting all the glory?

He coughs, "I was just explaining the rich tapestry of your family history Lily Mae, to give Eleanor a clear understanding of how far Eagle Ranch has come." He pauses, Eleanor strokes his arm. STROKES. HIS. FUCKING. ARM. Jealousy rages through me, now I want to scratch her eyes out. This isn't good, what the hell is happening to me? I am not that kind of woman.

"And that you organizing the charity rodeo event here is pretty big, and having the famous bull riders and barrel racers coming in is no small feat."

"Yes, well Jax enough of that. We all know it's the cowboys who do all the hard work around here," Eleanor says as she runs a hand down his chest. Jax looks mildly unamused and I am about to cut her fucking hands off.

Wes sniggers beside me, almost in full laughter. "Go and get your crew together, Wes and do something!" I command my kid brother. There is no way I am having Eleanor anymore closer to Jax than she needs to be.

When this days is over, I will do some serious self-talking and reflecting on just why I feel like killing another human being.
