From that day on, Kara officially became a student at Metropolitan University, and Bruce also became her classmate.
When Jennifer found out, she seriously asked Kara if she liked Bruce.
Kara made it clear to Jennifer that she didn't really like Bruce.
Well, if it were about Batman's identity, she would still want to collect a Batarang, a Batmobile, and a motorcycle. It would be even better if he could give her a Batmobile for sure.
Only then did Jennifer feel relieved, though she started frequently visiting Kara's classroom under the pretense of seeing her. But the intention of the "drunk" was not to drink.
Jennifer soon realized that Bruce didn't seem to notice her at all, and even Kara, who was far more attractive, remained indifferent towards him. He would politely greet them when they crossed paths, but that was about it.
"Do you think he already likes someone else?" Dani speculated once during lunch.
Kara didn't care. She was reading some elective books, such as a fascinating book about astronomy that she couldn't put down.
It contained an introduction to the Fixed Star, which was, of course, the sun.
It's well-known that Kryptonians derive their power from the golden rays of the sun, and this was tied to Kara's knowledge of her own power source.
Besides introducing the Sun, the book also speculated about Fixed Stars outside the solar system, but still within the Milky Way.
The first piece of information was that there are an estimated hundreds of billions of Fixed Stars in the Milky Way.
Among them, the Sun is neither the most massive nor the most prominent. For instance, Eta Carinae's brightness is over four million times that of the Sun.
Then there's the Peony Nebula Star, also known as the Peony Star, whose brightness is over three million times that of the Sun.
If Superman's power comes from sunlight, could it be assumed that with brighter stars, their power would increase even more?
After all, everyone knows that moonlight is just a reflection of sunlight, but moonlight doesn't give Kara any boost in strength.
In fact, Superman's power weakens at night.
So while Kara's physical strength seems limitless under the sun, it becomes limited under the moon.
The universe is certainly not lacking in bright red stars, and there are even quite a few.
Kara also made a mental note of their approximate locations, and in the future, she would steer clear of any places bathed in red sun rays.
This would be important if she ever ventured into space for future operations.
"Speaking of which, I'm attending a club activity this afternoon. Do you want to come with me?" Kara asked after they finished lunch, putting away her book as she stood up to leave.
"Don't you have class this afternoon?" Dani and Jennifer found this strange. It wasn't Friday or the weekend, so shouldn't Kara have classes?
Kara shrugged, "I've already completed my first-year courses on my own, so my professor let me explore other interests.
I'm planning to apply for an astronomy course.
Oh, and there's a pretty good journalism club—I've already sent in my application."
Dani and Jennifer stared at her in disbelief.
Thanks to her super-learning abilities, Kara had no problems—at least when it came to memorization. As for whether she could apply what she learned, that would depend on her future performance.
After saying goodbye to her friends, Kara headed to the club activity, specifically the news agency she had recently joined.
The reason she suddenly wanted to join the news agency was because she had noticed that the current president, who was still referred to as the team leader, was a classmate named Perry White.
He was a grade above Kara and was quite famous at the school since he was responsible for the school's newspapers and news reports.
If Kara remembered correctly, this person would eventually become the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, where Clark would later work.
It seemed like a good idea to build a relationship with him early on, as a potential future career opportunity.
In addition to this, Kara also joined the taekwondo and karate clubs. While taekwondo originally evolved from Tang hand, influenced by martial arts from the Tang Dynasty in Ryukyu, it later transformed into karate. Karate includes various techniques such as kicks, punches, throws, holds, locks, twists, and acupuncture strikes, making it a good fighting method.
The main reason Kara joined these clubs was that she didn't really know where to learn authentic kung fu. Simply relying on her superpowers, even a basic punch could be lethal in her hands when used against ordinary people.
For example, in taekwondo, most school clubs only teach flashy moves and performance routines. Many high kicks are impractical and leave one vulnerable to attacks.
But Kara's kicks were fast, precise, and ruthless. With a gust of wind, she could kick and break a board or brick her classmates had lifted.
She would retreat before anyone could counter her.
Once, Bruce watched from the sidelines, unable to resist the urge to challenge her.
Bruce had also joined both the taekwondo and karate clubs. Rumor had it that his skills were improving rapidly, and the two new students were nearly overwhelming the senior members.
During their duel, Kara's flying kick instantly floored Bruce. The force of the kick almost knocked him out.
In addition to this, Kara also observed the so-called Kung Fu club, only to discover it was still very much a work in progress and not reliable at all.
All in all, Kara's university life was moving along smoothly, and soon she became a prominent figure, not just because of her abilities but because of her undeniable beauty.
Yet, oddly enough, despite Kara's growing reputation, no one had dared to confess their feelings to her.
Well, some had tried, but a rumor circulated in the school: those who confessed, if they were decent students, would be mercilessly rejected in person.
As for the bad boys, they would mysteriously find themselves in fights numerous times within a single day for no apparent reason.
Since then, no one had dared to provoke this "demonic woman."
It's said that a year passed quickly, and after Bruce had been at the school for a while, he suddenly disappeared overnight.
If he really was Batman, Kara understood why he had left.
After all, Batman is considered one of the smartest people in the world. He had studied various subjects like biology, physics, mathematics, engineering, geography, theology, history, and more.
By the age of 21, he had earned degrees in criminology, law, computer science, chemistry, and engineering.
So, were these the years he was building up his knowledge?
Batman hadn't made his debut yet, but the day of his appearance wasn't far off.
