Hyunjin POV
I'm still in shock about what happened yesterday. I just can't believe Bang Chan kissed me. The same Bang Chan who used to hate me and bother me continuously. Just reminiscing about that kiss makes my legs weak. My heart immediately beats faster as I relive the moment our lips touched. I can't help it; my heart yearns for that feeling again. I want to feel Chan pull me closer with those strong, toned arms, to feel his warmth and closeness. His sweet taste and gentle yet firm touch are all I can think about.
But I didn't want to be delusional. I knew things wouldn't go smoothly today, and unfortunately, I was right. Chan was pretty much avoiding me throughout the entire morning. He barely talked to me, didn't ask about my day or how I felt, didn't offer me any drinks, and didn't help me out with work as he had been doing lately. It was as if he purely wanted to ignore me. In the past weeks, I'd gotten used to his gentle and kind behavior, so his cold and distant attitude today really made my heart ache.
"Hyunjin, can you take these two coffees to that couple before they get cold?" Felix's voice brought me back to reality. I took the tray, but as I placed it in front of the customers, I spilled it. They were understanding, but I still felt embarrassed as I brought them some napkins. What's wrong with me today? I never make such mistakes, but how could I concentrate when Bang Chan is the only thing on my mind?
The man of my thoughts appeared in front of me and asked me to bring some drinks upstairs.
"Also, Hyunjin, I want to have a word with you. Come to me when you're on your break. Thank you," he said, then left to do his own stuff.
"Uh, sounds like someone's getting fired," Jisung joked.
"Nooo, Hyunjin-hyung must be getting a raise," said Jeongin, smiling. He got closer to me and gave me a hug. Not gonna lie, it surprised me, and I wasn't a fan of his arms' tight grip around me, but I didn't want to seem rude by pushing him away.—
"So, what did you want to tell me?" I was about to sit next to my boss, but the table was full of invoices and files, so we sat at an empty table next to our upstairs storage room.
"First of all, I don't want you to feel like I regret kissing you. In fact, it was the best thing I could do. And I'd love to do it again; I'm just—" he stopped and let out a long sigh. "I'm scared... I really like you, Hyunjin, but how do I know you won't do the same as Jeongin? I'm afraid of a new relationship, but at the same time, all I can think about is you. I don't know what to do." He said all that while still avoiding eye contact. His expression seemed worried. I gently grabbed his hands that were resting on the table, which finally made him lift his chin up, looking into my eyes.
"Look, I don't want to pressure you into something you're not ready for. But I'd really like to date you. I know it's easy to say this, but I would never hurt you as he did. I just want to be with you." I gave him a reassuring look while still holding his soft hands.
"How can I say no when you look at me with those beautiful eyes?" he asked as he pulled me closer and gave me a short kiss. I was so surprised I could barely react.
"So, are you my boyfriend now?" he asked with such an adorable smile, to which I just kissed him.
"Hyunjin, can we keep this private for now? It's not like I don't want others to know I'm dating you. It's just... when we went public with Jeongin, some thought I was treating him differently than the rest of the boys working here. I just want to avoid any misunderstandings; I don't want them to think badly of you." He seemed hesitant to share his thoughts, but I appreciated his honesty. And he's right; I don't want to cause any drama.
"No worries, I understand. Guess I gotta go back now." He gave a little peck on my cheek, then let me go back to the boys.—
"Hyunjin, have you seen Jeongin?" Felix asked, but just as he said that, the boy appeared.
"Where were you? It's not nice of you to leave us alone while someone's on break."
"I didn't mean to; I was just upstairs doing the inventory." My eyes widened when I heard what Jeongin said. If he was upstairs, does that mean he heard my conversation with Chan?
"Hyunjin-hyung, are you okay? Sorry for taking your favorite task, but I thought I'd do it since you were on break." He looked at me with those foxy eyes of his, a sly grin on his face, then left to welcome the customers who had just come in.
