Pansy and Luna were huddled under the stars outside the Hogwarts castle. The trees swayed and whistled in the wind. Luna pointed at something beyond the trees and Pansy laughed, planting a kiss on her cheek.

"Are you sure you want to go to the burrow for Christmas, Luna?" Pansy asked with an exasperated sigh. "I don't even have anything to wear. What am I going to do — look like a trash bag?"

Luna smiled but didn't look away from the stars. "Oh, I believe you'll find something in your three closets. If not, I do think you'd look dashing in a garbage bag," she said softly. She unclipped her butterbeer cork necklace and placed it on Pansy's neck.

"It's coated in mistletoe leaf tea, of course. It'll bring you good luck and love if you wear it."

The smile on her face was so beautiful that Pansy vowed she'd never let it leave. She quickly clasped the necklace around herself and grinned at her girlfriend.

"I'm wearing my strawberry earrings and a dress daddy says is made of spun gold!" Luna said excitedly, flapping her hands. She always did that when she was excited. Pansy, on the other hand, just dug her fingernails into her palms until they bled. It wasn't particularly healthy, but oh well. She'd never coped as well as Luna.

"Spun gold? Hot!"

Luna leant in closer to her. She knew that Pansy didn't believe the same things as she did, but that was okay. It was enough that she didn't argue, didn't treat her like she was crazy as everyone else did.

Pansy stared at her lovingly and squeezed her hand. She was so sexy when she spoke about magizoology. Not as sexy as she was in lingerie, of course, but that would have to wait.

There was a loud cough from behind them and they pulled apart immediately.

"Oh no! Filch!" Pansy whisper-yelled. She tugged Luna towards her, hoping that Filch would think they were a statue or something less suspicious than two lesbians out of bed at midnight.

"What do we do? That barmy old bat will give us detention for weeks!" Pansy whined.

Luna scanned the area as she complained. They were halfway between Hagrid's hut and the castle grounds and surrounded by large willowy trees. The air smelt faintly of smoke and berries — probably from the forbidden forest. Luna had told her that there were eight different species of berries native to the forest.

Filch was approaching them, and quickly. They couldn't see his figure, but it sounded as if he was running on a pile 0f branches. That couldn't be good, Pansy decided.

"Over there!" Luna said suddenly and she took off with her. Pansy had the distinct sensation that hot coffee had been poured down her head and she looked up at Luna, who was muttering under her breath.

"I apologise," she smiled, "I quite enjoy the feeling, but not everyone does. I cast the disillusionment charm, so we should be invisible for a small amount of time."

Pansy gaped at her for two very different reasons: one, who on earth would enjoy that sensation, and two: she was a literal genius. She hadn't even thought to cast that spell. Sure it was temporary, but it bested her idea of seducing and then punching him.

They ran as fast as they possibly could and by the time they reached the castle corridors ten minutes later, they were panting heavily.

"You're...amazing...Luna," Pansy mumbled, pausing to take in more breath. "But I'm never...sneaking out...around midnight again because...I may have a...heart attack." Luna looked solemn for a second but then started to giggle. Her laugh sounded like bells — tinkling and light.

"I do hope you're alright, Pansy," she said, biting her lip. Pansy nodded and waved away her concern. She was fine. "In that case..." She bent over and laughed hysterically, now sounding less like a bell and more like a loveable dying bird. It's a miracle that she isn't out of breath, Pansy thought.

"Okay, okay, I'm unfit. I get it. But you can't deny that my body's pretty fit," she said with a wink.

"You're just trying to get me to sleep with you, aren't you," Luna said, though it was more of a statement than a question.

"Is it working?" Pansy smirked.

"Yes, as I'm sure you can tell. And yes, I've known this charm for years," she said dreamily. "I used to sneak into the greenhouses occasionally. You know, for herbal tea." Yet again, she'd known what Pansy was thinking without her even saying a thing (well, she was thinking about two things, but still).

Their heads started to shine, revealing their black and blonde hair respectively, and Pansy remembered the reason they'd run in the first place. "Shit. Spell's wearing off, darling. We should go. I love you," she said before sprinting in the direction of the dungeons, her skirt hiked up so that Luna could see underneath.

"I love you too, my flower," Luna whispered, though Pansy was already gone. She walked back to the Ravenclaw tower with a smile on her face, not even caring who saw her. Pansy was worth it.
