Never would have thought that an assistant would make my work a lot more easier.

Anya and I ran for our lives from the continued explosive sound of the warehouse. The range of that explosion will make half the ship unfunctional, or worse, explode the whole thing.

But I have my final plan on my sleeves.

Anya helps me run by putting her arms around my shoulder. Even if our feet aren't the fastest, we still manage to escape the fire that slowly consuming the back ship.

"(N/N), what are we gonna do?!" Anya said with shaky breath. The sound of explosion persists from the back.

"Don't worry! Let's go to the living room first!"

When we managed to stumble upon the living room, I commanded Anya to close the doors that led to the other side of the ship. She immediately ran off to do as I commanded.

I look around. Daisuke and Swansea are seated unconscious on the couch, though head hang and quite the snore they make, nevertheless, I still felt a pang of happiness to see them safe.

I made my way to a health kit carefully stitched my wound and cleaned it. I didn't have much time so I hurried the process.

Anya ran into me and said, "(N/N), what's next?" Her eyes show reliance on me and I'm glad she did. I smiled, told her to sit tight, and encouraged her to imagine her life when we got home back to earth.

She was puzzled at first but she nodded either way.

Both me and Anya then heard a groan. Swansea was waking up, but how?!

Oh, I remember now, he had this high resistance to alcohol, maybe that also affected the sleeping drug thing?

(N/N) isn't even that knowledgeable in medicine other than mechanics.

"What happened?" Swansea stood, rubbing his head while looking at us. His still sloppy from the effect but that's alright, "(N/N). What happened to you?"

My clothes have some stains of blood. No one wonder Swansea's mouth wide.

"It's a long story, Dad-"

"Dad?" Anya ask confused.

"Well... It's a long LONG story, Anya"

Swansea shook his head, "Atlest tells me some short detail" He held my wrist. This is to be suspected.

Swansea was my dad (or (N/N) dad). As a father, of course, he would be worried sick about me, I mean, I heard that Father tends to be more protective of their daughter.

He looks at me with a frown, I sigh. As long as the ship doesn't give any warning about the fire spreading close, I guess there's a chance that I could tell him about this whole mess.

🧪☣️☠️⚗️🤢

After I tell Swansea the whole context, Swansea slaps me on the cheek.

My cheeks were red, imprinting Swansea's palm. It stings a little though I bit my lips to withstand the pain.

Anya was baffled but didn't interfere, she simply held her lips. I didn't budge, of course, I knew it was my fault. It made Swansea worry. I'll take the blame for that.

But to my surprise, Swansea embraces me with a hug. It made me feel safe again, the feeling that J wouldn't be putting all the stunts and be protected by someone who loved me.

"You are an idiot... but... but I'm glad you're alive" Swansea buried his head in my neck, his gruff voice croaking as his voice slightly lowered down "But please tell me about this thing, you don't know how much I am worried sick just thinking that you went through this"

I was silent, I could feel a tear getting out of my eyes but I tried to shut my eyelid, preventing the tear from getting out of its suffocating isolation.

"You are the only precious thing I got left, (N/N), please don't do this again" Swansea added softly, "I don't want your mother to be disappointed in me for not protecting you... and... and I don't wanna bear the idea that my precious daughter is harmed without me knowing a thing..."

And just for a brief moment, I let my eyelid open. Tears fall from my cheeks like shimmering gems.

I hug him tightly and sob.

I can finally experience the feeling of someone I can rely on. Throughout the responsibility I have signed upon, I'm still standing without any corruption. This all reminds me back of that one person, Curly.

"I wonder how Curly is doing" I thought.

Our Father and Daughter moment was cut by an alarm sound. It made the whole living room blinking red.

"It's here," I said as I wiped my tears, "Anya, strap Daisuke from the couch. This will get messy" I said as I pointed at Daisuke still sleeping peacefully.

"What for?" Anya asked, her hands fidgeting, "I'm still disoriented to this whole thing, I don't know if I can even put a strap on Daisuke"

I held her hands softly, looking at her directly, "I know you can do this, I trust you, And don't worry too much. Nothing bad gonna happen" I said reassuringly.

Anya hesitated, "Alright, if you said so" She smiled, "Promise me you'll help me study at my medical school when we get back home, okay?"

I nodded giving her a reassuring squeeze in the hands.

"Dad, I want you to carry Curly in the living room and strap him from there as well. He is probably still unconscious. Also, bring a box there filled with his meds, it might get destroyed since it's very fragile" I gave my father a look.

Swansea had the same hesitant expression as Anya did, "What about you? Where are you going?"

"I will cut this spaceship in half"
