🔜 Chapter Twenty Two 🔚

My eyes flutter open, I groan and rub my eyes. I look around and see that I'm still in Liam's bed. Liam is sound asleep beside me. I slowly get up, and grab some shorts, and put them on under his shirt that I slept in.

I quietly make my way downstairs. Luckily Kettle palace is only 5 stories high, and Liam's bedroom was on the 2nd floor. I walk into the kitchen and grab a glass of water, then take a sip, then another. Then I just straight chug it. I sit the glass in the sink then walk to the door

"We have to do something about it Axel." I hear a man whisper yell at someone. I feel for my staff but it isn't on my finger. It must of fallen off in my sleep... I panic as I hide behind the kitchen counter as the voices get louder.

"I know alright. We'll fix it tomorrow before they leave." Another man speaks, must be the axel guy. Leave tomorrow? That's when me and Liam head back to Floravera.

"We have to. That Floravera girl cannot become our queen. I won't stand for it." He slams his hand on the table.

"I know Johnny. Calm your hormones, you act like my wife." I hear something clatter then something rolls behind the counter where I am. I freeze as I watch a hand grab a flask that was dropped. Then the arm freezes.

He clears his throat, and leans back up. I know he saw me. I jump up, Johnny's eyes widen as I bolt to the door. Johnny grabs me before I can even get there. And slams me into the wall, "you're that Floravera girl!"

"Shut up Johnny keep your voice down or they'll come save her." I put my hands onto johnnys arms that were holding my upper arms.  Then I push up. Sending one foot into his face, and the other to his groin. As he flies back, I make a run through the castle.

I can hear footsteps behind me. I run as fast as possible. I see a sword on the wall up a few feet. I run to it, yanking it off the wall. I hold it up to Axel who chased me down. My breathing is heavy but I control so I don't sound weak "back the hell off!"

He steps closer. KelVick guards fighting is top tier. Without the wand I'm unlikely to win. "No you heard something you shouldn't have." He grabs his sword, and He lunges forward, I hold the sword up, and it plunges straight through his heart. Dumbass.

7 guards round the corner, they look at Axel who is now dead and me who is holding the sword. "It's not what it looks like." I say but it's too late. They're already running at me at full speed with their swords. I pick up Axel's sword by then a guard has made it to me.

The guard swung the sword. I raised my sword up letting it counter his, then I push my sword forward causing it to go into his heart. He falls. 1 down. I grab my  swords again as another guard comes behind I don't even give him a chance to raise it. I take both swords, and turn around slicing through his neck and stomach. He falls. 2 down.

2 of them come at me at the same time. I duck from their swords, and shove my foot forward causing the knives to fly through their chests and throats. I pull the swords back. They fall. 4 down. 3 guards run at me. I slice one's neck instantly, 5 down.

I catch the other guards hand as he swings, and twist it, to nick the other guard on the arm. This breaks his wrists from impact, he falls. 5.5 down. The guard holds his shoulder I don't care though. I lunge for his feet. He falls back. I get on top of him. I blunge the sword straight through his eyes. 6.5 down

I pull it out and stand, holding it to the last guard. He steps back. "You win you win!" He holds his wrist and leans on the wall, looking away from me as if waiting for the strike.

I put down the sword. "I don't kill innocent people." I state. Then walk away. I walk down the hallway to the steps then to Liam's room. I open the door, standing there covered in blood.

He rolls over and his eyes flutter open at me. Then he sees the blood, he sets up "baby what the hell!?"

"You might wanna go check on your guards. I let Axel live." He looked so confused "they attacked me." I tried to clear up the confusion but my brain was fuzzy from the adrenaline.

"You need to see a doctor." He checks my face for any sighs of cuts or bruises. I don't have a scratch on me. "DAD!" He yells out of his room.

His dad runs out in his pjs then runs at us. "What the hell happened?" He questions

"It's not mine." I state. "Your guards attacked."

He looked furious. "Where"

"First." I run over, and grab my wand from the nightstand, then I walked them down the steps and to the hallway where it happened.

Vincent lets out a breath at the scene. Liam stands there in shock. "You did this without your wand?" I nod.

Vincent says "I didn't even know you knew how to handle a sword."

"Obviously I know how to handle a sword. You weren't the only one that thought it would be best to train your kids for anything." I state. The guard beside me groans. It's the one with the broken wrist. The one I broke

"He's still alive!" Liam rushes to him.

"So is Axel in the kitchen. He and Johnny over here were talking about something when I went to get a drink of water, then they saw me. I ran, Axel caught me and threw me into the wall. I kicked him in the face and dick, then ran out here. Johnny followed. I killed him. Then 7 guards showed up and saw I killed him so they tried to kill me, and failed and now we're here with broken wrist guy." I state

Liam deters me with so many emotions. He shakes his head. "I didn't take you for a killer."

"I'm not. I had no choice, they were trying to kill me." He scrunches his face at what I say, as if avoiding killing me too.

"They wouldn't do that. They have strict rules to protect you no matter what." He snaps now in my face.

"Back the hell up Liam." I tell him. He does "first of all, don't ever get in my face like that again, or you will end up like these fuckers on the ground. 2nd. Yes the hell they would. They saw someone they knew dead before me. They acted I defended." I spit out at him.

Vincent steps in, holding back his son. "Shes right. She had every right to kill them. You two need to calm down now before she rips out your throat." He looks at Liam. He isn't holding him back to protect me, he's doing it to protect him.

"No need. This conversation is over with." I walk past them, and out of the doors. Straight to my horse. I basically run. I untie her, and we're off in a heartbeat, Into the dark forest.
