Though the words exchanged seemed pure, Ye Wenxin couldn't shake the feeling that something less than pure was occurring.

"Sister, why don't we keep the door open while we chat?" Ye Wenxin suggested, thinking of another way to reduce the awkwardness. With the door open, she wouldn't have to worry about Long Qing'er experiencing any personality changes or shifts in orientation due to emotional distress.

"You silly child, you're shivering from the cold, and you still want to leave the door open?" Long Qing'er suppressed her laughter, finding Ye Wenxin's fear refreshingly amusing.

If Long Qing'er weren't so enamored with Feng Ya, perhaps something more than sisterly affection would develop. But as it stood, Long Qing'er genuinely just wanted to chat with Ye Wenxin under the covers. The topics were private, prompting her to pull Ye Wenxin onto her bed.

"Well, at least the air would circulate, and we wouldn't catch a cold," Ye Wenxin continued, steeling herself. It wasn't that she couldn't resist, but the cost of resistance was too high.

She could only kill, and any move would mean a death.

As Long Qing'er drew closer, Ye Wenxin prepared to use her silver needles for control. But as the distance between them narrowed, Long Qing'er instead mysteriously pulled out a book.

"Look at this, what do you think?"

Ye Wenxin's eyes were drawn to the book, and as she flipped through a few pages, her embarrassment only grew.

It was a beginner’s guide to wrestling between men and women. Ye Wenxin had tried not to misjudge Long Qing'er, but this book tested her limits.

"Sister, I'm still a child! How can you show me such a book?" Ye Wenxin put on a stern face, having expected something genuinely useful from Long Qing'er, only to feel let down by the inappropriate content.

"What? It's important to start young with this kind of book," Long Qing'er replied, puzzled. She had spent a significant amount of spiritual stones to acquire it.

Never did she expect her goodwill to meet with Ye Wenxin's displeasure.

Feeling rejected, Long Qing'er took the book back and intended to explain its value to Ye Wenxin. But upon seeing the illustrations of wrestling, she realized the misunderstanding.

"Sorry, I grabbed the wrong book," Long Qing'er blushed, understanding why Ye Wenxin was upset.

Quickly, she retrieved another book from her qiankun bag. Its cover was similar to the previous one, but its contents were older and imbued with strong inheritance spells.

Ye Wenxin was instantly captivated by the power of the book, forgetting to question the purpose of the wrestling guide.

"What is this?"

"It's an inheritance book I bought at auction. It's about some rare pill recipes. I thought you'd like it, so I got it for you," Long Qing'er explained, watching Ye Wenxin's eyes light up with desire for the first time.

Ye Wenxin's usual demeanor was calm and reserved, but her expression told Long Qing'er she had chosen the right book.

"Is this really for me?" Ye Wenxin was enthralled. Once striving for the title of number one, viewing other books as trash, her perspective shifted after studying alchemy and the Soul-Calming Eighteen Needles, discovering a new world of enjoyment.
