Chapter 29 Bring Her Down

Monday Week 9
Emerald's POV
I want to be popular. I want to be known. I want to be bowed down to and admired. I want to walk with Aina, Amber, Delilah, Glitter, Layla and their dogs. I want everyone to respect me, I want everyone to know my name, Emerald. Say it once, say it twice, get it stuck in your head. I sigh though, when are my dreams going to come true when I can't get my name out there? I only joined the PSN to finally get my name somewhere. Nope. Well at least at the end of everything I write in it, it says Written by Emerald H. Everyone thinks I'm just a wannabe, jealous gossip girl. Except for my friends, Cloud, Lacy, Nala and Skye. I have something in common with Glitter, although. We both hate Paisley. Rip off Daisy. I was already sick of Daisy and I'm thrilled she left but of course someone has to take her spot, that was Paisley. I need to start a rumor to make everyone hate Paisley. Let's start with.... Aina! She's popular, she'll get word around fast. What's the rumor though? She rigged her way into the musical last year? That'll make Aina's blood boil for sure. I'll make a special rumor personalized for everyone. "Hey girl." I spook Aina when she turns around. "What do you want? I'm not your girl." I smirk. "So... you know last year?" I start it off. "Yeah I know, where you belong." She says. I'm so last year? Not anymore, Aina. "The musical Encanto." "Don't even get me started, whatever your name is." Ha she's already mad! In my opinion, I should've gotten that role more than Aina - for sure! I would've been amazing as Isabela. I would be singing amongst flowers, looking gorgeous, everyone admiring me. But no - it was Paisley, singing amongst flowers. But she did NOT look gorgeous, she had an allergic reaction to the foundation. Her face got really puffy - it was sooo embarrassing for her. All the hard work for nothing! Pfft! I don't even have an allergy to anything in foundation, I would've stayed flawless! "Apparently, Paisley rigged the roles." Aina goes wide eyed. "She what?" She asks, fury enraged in her eyes. "Rigged it. Yep. You were originally meant to get it but she wanted it so desperately and wouldn't have it so she rigged it." Aina's jaw dropped. "That little rat." I nodded. "She is going to pay in every single way." She muttered and walked off in anger. Hahahahah! Amber next. "Hey amber." I greet her. Amber gives me a side eye look. "I know I should've told you this sooner but, last year after the musical Paisley was going around telling others that you were horrible at singing in practice and took so many takes to get everything right because you were so off key." Amber shakes her head. "Well she'll for sure receive somewhat payback." How is this actually working? Aina and Amber are wayyy gullible than I thought. Too easy. Akira next? It'd be a bold move, imagine, Paisley's own best friend turning on her? But who's to say Akira would even believe me? She's overhead me talk bad about her to Esmerelda and Gypsy once. Artemis? Nah. Arthur? Probably not. Atlas? Her own boyfriend? Could be good. Atlas and Paisley - what thought to be a perfect couple broken up? I started telling everyone more rumors.

Paisley's POV
Why are so many students giving me dirty looks? Seriously though! What is up with that? I see my friends waiting outside the classroom. They're smiling and happy. The teacher dismisses us. "You first, Paisley." Aina says smirking. I don't trust her. Everyone backs up, leaving me in front of the door. Glares and confusion is filled by that other students. What could be so bad? What have I got to lose? I open the door and I step out, water falls all over me. Of course. Never ever ever ever trust Aina. I stand there soaking and cold. "Hahahahahaha," aina and her friends join her. "Serves her right." I hear someone mutter among the crowd gathering. What have I done to everyone? Is whatever I did so bad? I can make it right if I know what I did! "Wow. You guys are all unbelievable." Coco says, "you and you and you, even you!" She says pointing. "Let's go to the change rooms at the swimming pool." Izzy whispers to me. We March over to the swimming pool. Tons of cats and dogs staring. We go into the swimming pool over to the girls change rooms. "I'd say hit the showers. Who knows what could be in that water." Katerina says. I do exactly as she says. I go into the shower and turn it on. I use some dog wash. After a minute and a half I get out. "We'll help." Says Akira. Akira gets a blow dryer and Coco gets another blow dryer. They blow dry different parts of my body. "Done!" They both say. I start to brush my hair a bit. I look good as new. "Guys we better hurry to lunch!" Izzy says looking at the time. We sprint to the cafeteria. A hotdog, apple, carrots, some yogurt drops and an iced coffee. Everything is dog/cat friendly. I sit down next to Katerina in my usual spot. Hey. Raven?! Yep it's me. Oh hello. Listen, you've done nothing wrong. Phew. But someone's started rumors about you. What why? They don't like you. They're jealous of you. Could it be Aina? No it is not Aina. Someone taps on my shoulder. I turn around, Mr Zeus? "Paisley could you follow me? You can put your lunch in a takeaway container." I do exactly as he says. Katerina shifts over to my spot and Izzy comes around to sit in Katerina's usual spot and Coco moves over a bit. I go off with him and my lunch in the takeaway container. He leads me to VPF's office. Why am I here? Mr Zeus knocks and opens the door. I spot VPF at his desk, looking bright and cheery as always and then Emerald in the seat on the left, in front of his desk. She turns around and looks at me with a blank expression. "Take a seat, Paisley." I do as he says. Mr Zeus closes the door and leaves. Emerald's got her lunch too. "So it comes to my attention that untrue rumors about Paisley have been going around the school." VPF starts off. Raven was right. I always am. I never doubted you. I know you never did. What's going on in Emerald's head? Panic. Lots of anxiety. But don't feel sorry for her, she deserves no one's pity. Rude little midget. You're smaller than her? Raven doesn't respond. "Someone has come to me and has told me that it was you, Emerald who has started the rumors." VPF says again. Emerald looks really nervous. Her paws are clenching together. "Emerald?" At least VPF is a nice vice principal. "Y-yes." She says it so quietly I can barely hear her. Why would Emerald do this though? VPF nodded. "Emerald. You will receive detention after school today. 20 minutes." Emerald hung her head low and nodded. "This is a form of bullying. If you are to do this again, you will receive a suspension, again after that will be a longer suspension, again after that will be expulsion. Is that clear?" Emerald nodded to VPF. Emerald looks like she's going to burst into tears. "Now. Someone here deserves an apology, isn't that right?" He says with a kind smile. Emerald nods. She brings her head up and looks at me. "I'm so sorry, Paisley. I don't know what came over me. I am sorry." "I forgive you, Emerald." I smiled, she smiled back. Emerald's not mean deep down, got to give her the benefit of the doubt. "Paisley you may now leave to lunch." I leave but Emerald stays.

At homeroom dismissal

"So there's something I must say to you all. Each homeroom teacher is doing this." Mr Zeus says. "But, the rumors some of you may have heard about Paisley are all untrue. Someone made it all up and they will be receiving detention at some point this week." They're doing good keeping it anonymous. Bailey raised his paw. "Yes, Bailey?" "So you don't know who it is?" He asks. "I know who it is, but we're keeping it anonymous." Bailey nods. After we're dismissed, I go to VPF's office. I knock. "Come in." He says. He's all alone. "Vice Principal Frankie, who told you it was all untrue and Emerald?" VPF sighed. "You must not tell anyone, okay? Only you can know." He says to me. "I promise." "It was Akira." Akira's a good friend.
