Math was boring. We were learning algebra but I don't understand. Math is numbers, not letters! Miss Smith forgot to close the door so when Alex walked through the halls our eyes met each others. I wonder why he was walking through the halls. Mister Mitchell's office is that way so maybe he was going there.

As I was going to my locker to check my schedule I noticed Alex was walking towards me. I looked down at my feet when what felt like a shoulder nudged me to my locker, with the words "watch where your going freak!" Following. I didn't even have to look up to know who it was. "You ran into me!" I shouted.
"Oh, is someone talking to me? Because all I hear is blah blah blah." Alex exclaimed. I rolled my eyes. "Whatever." Alex is the fucking worst. If I could hit him with my car, I would.

As Alex was walking away an announcement was made by the office lady. "Attention all students, tomorrow the year 9's and 10's are going on an excursion to the you-yangs. Please go to the office before the bell for a note to give to your parents. Please. Don't. Forget." It said.

My schedule said I had sport next. I'm not an athletic person and never really liked playing sports. I looked at my watch. 9:50. I had about 5 minutes to rest before I had to go to class. I spent that time on my phone texting Harper. Her classes are on the other side of the school, so I can't talk to her in person. We mostly spoke about class and our schedules. We had science together so at least I had something to look forward to. But all of a sudden the bell rang...

Shit.

The hallway was packed with people rushing to their class, making me later than I had to be. "Maya. You are late." Mister Morris exclaimed. "1 day's detention."
"What?! For being late only-"
"That is enough. Don't make me extend that time."
"I... Yes mister morris..." I said unconfidently. When mister morris yells it's really loud, making us do what he says. If I'm honest, he's kinda scary. There have been multiple rumors spread about him. Things that if were true would make him incredibly dangerous. The most recent once was something along the lines of him being an abusive dad and that's why his ex wife divorced him. The majority of me doesn't believe it but a small part of me does...

"Today we are playing golf. We have a guest here today to help. Treat him with respect. If any of you say one bad thing you get detention. Got it?" Mister Morris asked. Everyone nodded. I looked at the guest we had and saw someone who looked familiar. It was my dads friend, Aiden! He looked at everyone and cleared his throat. His posture was straight and he had white golf-gloves on. Mister Morris handed Aiden a clipboard with the roll on it. He scanned the paper before introducing himself.
"Hello children, my name is Aiden." His voice was low and calm, yet energetic and bubbly.

"Before we start I have to do the roll. Alexa?"
"Here!"
"Bryant?"
"Present!"
Aidan's eyes slightly lit up when he saw my name on the roll."Maya?"
I smiled. "Present."

Aiden said a few names after that: Jess, Steve, Allan, Xavier, Aria and Tait. Steve was the only absent person on that list. Aiden was pretty good at teaching. I already knew a lot about golf so I was used as the volunteer when he was showing us what to do. Aiden taught us about the different clubs and when to use certain ones . I never understood that part. It feels like there's hundreds of different clubs, there probably is! But we mainly focused on which ones we use in the green and which ones we don't.
