As the first light of dawn crept into her room, Aadya stirred awake, her head throbbing with a dull ache. She had slept fitfully, her hands clutching her head as if trying to ward off the pain. Groggily, she squinted at her watch and groaned, "7:00 already! I overslept!"Her eyes felt heavy, her lids struggling to open. She attempted to sit up, but the room began to spin, and she clutched her hair, dizzy. "Aadya, why didn't you listen to Navya?" she chastised herself. "Why did you take those sleeping pills?"
She took a deep breath and attempted to rise from bed once more, but her head protested with a fierce throbbing. She had long relied on sleeping pills to soothe her solo nights, but two years of sharing a room with Navya had helped her break the habit. Tonight's exception, however, had unleashed a morning-after reckoning. Her body was paying the price for the sudden return to pills, and she felt the consequences.
Her head throbbed with excruciating pain, as if her brain might burst at any moment. Yet, she summoned the strength to drag herself to the bathroom, where she turned on the faucet and sat under the gentle cascade of water. As the liquid bliss washed over her head, her headache began to recede, and she felt a sense of relief wash away the agony.
An hour later, she emerged from her room, looking stylish in a white shirt, black pant, nuptial chain in neck, vermillion in her hair partition and diamond ring on ring finger and a simple heart shape bracelet in her right hand. Her black heels clicked on the stairs as she descended her pale cleavage visible.
As she reached the bottom, her eyes met Shredyansh's, who was sitting in the hall wearing a navy blue three piece suit, sipping coffee and scrolling through his iPad, which was propped up on the table in front of him. His gaze looked up and locked onto hers.
Aadya felt Shredyansh's eyes on her, making her skin prickle with awareness. She hurriedly shifted her focus and made a beeline for the kitchen, seeking refuge in the familiarity of routine. "Myra Aunty , shall we brew some tea now?" she asked, her voice a gentle hum.
Myra emerged from the kitchen, a cup already in hand, and said with a warm smile, "Madam, I've got your tea ready!"
Aadya's eyes lit up in surprise, "You've made it already?"
Myra nodded, glancing at the cup, "Actually, the boss suggested you might be running late today, so I took the initiative to brew it for you."
Aadya took the cup from Myra's hand, her eyes shining with gratitude. "Thank you so much, but from tomorrow, I'd love to make my own tea, okay?"
Myra nodded with a smile. "I told the boss you said that before bed, but he insisted, Maybe she'll be late, so make tea for her."
Aadya's hand paused mid-air, her tea sip halted in surprise. "Really?" she asked, her voice tinged with amusement and curiosity.Myra nodded.
Aadya's curiosity was piqued. "He's a morning person?" she asked, eyes wide with wonder.
