(MUST READ)
Thank you so much for picking up this book! If you're here, it likely means you enjoyed The Rejected Crown: Book 1, and I couldn't be more grateful for your support. If this is your first time stepping into the series, I strongly recommend starting with Book 1 to fully immerse yourself in the story and its characters—it'll make for a much smoother and more enjoyable experience.
Before we dive in, I want to share a few quick notes. This book explores mature themes, and while the content isn't overly explicit, there are some intimate moments throughout. Please keep that in mind as you read. Additionally, the events and ideas within this story are entirely fictional, created to serve the narrative and the characters—they do not reflect my personal beliefs or opinions.
You'll also notice a shift in storytelling style this time around. In Book 1, each chapter was dedicated to a specific character's perspective. However, for this book, I've opted for a consistent third-person perspective across all chapters. I'm excited to explore the story through this new approach, and I hope you'll enjoy the change.
While this world draws loose inspiration from history, it is not meant to be historically accurate. You may notice subtle nods to historical elements, but they have been reshaped to fit this fictional setting.
In Book 1, the focus was on introducing the characters and setting the stage for the larger story. This time, I've worked to strike a better balance between the unfolding plot and the romantic elements, and I hope you find this evolution rewarding.
You might also notice that, unlike the previous book—where each chapter belonged to a different character—this one features some characters with multiple consecutive chapters while others have fewer or none at all. Don't worry—they haven't been forgotten. Their roles simply haven't taken center stage yet, but they will in time.
One last thing—I know this is primarily a historical fantasy with political elements, but I also intend to incorporate serious real-life issues. Since the story takes place across two timelines—the past and the future—these issues will be handled differently in each. As I mentioned before, the history in this book is not entirely accurate, as it is set in a fictional world. However, the past timeline will remain mostly true to historical realities, depicting issues such as sexism, slavery, homophobia, and cruelty, as they were prevalent during that time. In the future timeline, I will introduce modern real-world problems, including homophobia, human trafficking, and drug-related issues. It's important to emphasize that I do not support any of these issues in any way; they are included solely for narrative purposes.
Thank you for joining me on this journey once again. I hope you enjoy every page.
Happy reading!
