Chapter 10: Corveral's Meeting

- Winter Corveral's POV-

" So para saan ang meeting? " tanong ni Xinon pagkadating na pagkadating namin dito sa bahay namin. Yes, you read it right. May bahay kami dito pero hindi kami dito tumitira. It's been a decade since the last time we go here.

" Wow namiss ko din tong bahay na to ah" sabi ni Venice na tinitignan yung mga picture frames. Napako yung tinggin ko sa family tree na nasa wall. That's the list of all the member of our clan. From the elders until us, the last generation. Our history is painted all over this house.

" It's been 10 years right. A Decade of misery. " Yuwi said using her cold voice. I must admit it, I hate her cold voice.

" Oh cut that drama baby Yuwi. Ayoko niyan... " sabi ni Xinon.

" So what's the meeting all about? "tanong ko naman. Mukha kasing seryoso siya.

" We need to train my master" Yuwi said. Train his Master? River? Akala ko ba trabaho na niyang protektahan yung lalakeng yun. Why do we need to train him? Sudden change of plan huh?

" Akala ko ba ikaw na ang bahala sa kanya? What made you change your mind?" sabi ni Venice. Pinatong naman ni Yuwi yung siko niya sa lamesa na parang nag-iisip. She really looks like a doll when she's serious.

" I saw him. Dr. Algor " panimula niya. I saw how Xinon and Venice closed their fist.

" He's sending prototypes to hunt us and to hunt the data keeper who's my master. " She pause for a while.

" I also saw him. My guardian" This time, the three of us look on her with confusion.

" You mean... how? I mean... he died alredy." Xinon said. Yes, his guardian died eight years ago. 10 years old kami nun. Samantalang yung guardian niya 11 na. Hindi naman sumagot si Yuwi, lumapit siya sa dingding. She started to trace the letters encripted on the wall.

" He didn't. He lied. He's ability is to read others mind. From the very beginning after the experiment finish, he started to read Dr. Algor's mind. He knew that he can only escape that hell if he died. That's why he pretend and escape with the help of Dr. Kenneth. " then she stop, tracing her mother's name.

" Since he's not a member of our clan, Dr. Algor taught that his body gave up causing his death. " she said while tracing her father's name.

" Where is he? Hindi ba siya magpapakita sa amin? " tanong ni Venice. It's normal for her to ask that. After all, Venice loves him.

" Not yet. I guess. It's hard to understand him. Let's just let him do what he wants. He won't do something stupid. He's still my guardian." Yuwi said tracing some lines.

" What about River?" tanong ko. She look back on us.

" We will train him and... help him find the data his keeping." Sabi ni Yuwi na lumalapit samin.

" Sigurado ka bang hindi niya talaga alam? " sabi ni Venice.

" How about his mother. Baka alam niya?" sabi ni Xinon.

" They don't know any YET. Maybe Dr. Kenneth said it with a twist. You know him " sabi ni Yuwi.

" When and Where are we going to train him?" tanong ko. Umupo naman si Yuwi.

"One week from now. " Yuwi said.

" And When? " Tanong ni Xinon. Nilibot naman ni Yuwi yung tingin niya sa buong bahay.

" Here. That's why your going to clean this " she said. Napatayo naman ng sabay si Xinon at Venice

" What? Baby Yuwi, Seryoso ka ba? " tanong ni Xinon. Yuwi look at her using her cold eyes.

" Yes. We will train him here. It will be safe for us... and we will join some of his friends " Yuwi said looking at Xinon.

" at dahil sa walang pwedeng makaalam ng lugar na to kaya kami ang maglilinis. Ang laki kaya ng bahay na to. " sabi ni Venice. I do agree on her.

" That's why I'm giving you a week. " she said.

" I think she's right." sabi ko. At dahil dalawa na kami ni Yuwi na nagsabi, bumuntong hininga nalang sila tsaka tumango.

" Fine. One week tuloy tayong absent sa school niyan " sabi ni Venice.

" It's fine baby V. Winter and Yuwi are both genius. Tuturuan nila tayo. Di ba?" Xinon said while doing some stupid looks. Why did people think that pouting is cute. They look like a duck asking for a kiss.

" You look like a duck " I said. Then Xinon look at me with disbelief.

" Err... Wala ka talaga sa uso Winter. And I'm not a duck. Ang ganda ko namang duck " sabi ni Xinon.

" I'll go ahead. " Yuwi said. Lumabas na siya agad. Probably, she's thinking about his master being unguarded. Lucky Bastard.

- River Ehren Crusveda's POV -

" Riverehren... " tinignan ko naman si Yuwi na kanina pa hinahatak yung laylayan ng uniform ko. Kanina pa kasi siya nagsosorry sa pagiging cold niya at hindi pagpapakita ng isa't kalahating araw.

" Sorry " sabi niya ulit. Bumalik na naman siya sa kaka-english. Pshhh... hayaan na nga. Humarap naman ako sa kanya. Nasa hallway kami ngayon. Lunes na lunes pero mukhang malelate kami.

" Kahapon pa kita tinatanong... sino yung naghatid sayo? Saan ka galing? At bakit ganoon ka kahapon? " tanong ko. Yumuko naman siya. Pshhh... Nakakainis.

" Look. Remember the time when you said that you trust me as your master so I should trust you as my guardian? How can I do that if you will not tell me? " tanong ko. She look like a guilty child and start staring on my eyes.

Gezzz... She really looks like a doll with that look.

" I'm sorry rivererhen. That guy is my guardian. I encounter some prototypes and been poisoned. He just help me. And about my attitude, it's actually my defence mechanism to divert my fear. I'm sorry rivererhen." she said looking so guilty. Tell me how can I resist that look? I'm not a gay ok... but she really looks like an expensive doll. So she's afraid when she's being cold huh. Ano naman ang kinakatakot niya pag nasa harap siya ng ibang tao?

"May guardian ka?" tanong ko. Umiwas naman siya ng tingin tsaka tumango.

" Pano ka ba nagiging guardian? Pwede din ba akong maging guardian?" tanong ko. For the sake of curiosity. Come to think of it... dumating nalang siya as a gift or as my guardian na hindi ko naman alam kung pano nangyari.

" In our clan, a person can be a guardian as long as he/she can promise to give his/her life to his/her master. It means that, we guardians should die first before our master. " Yuwi said.
I stop from walking...

" What? " tanong ko. Hindi naman siya sumagot.

" You should die first before me? That will never happen. I will die first" sabi ko. I don't know but that idea stab my heart. Seeing Yuwi die before me. That's absurd.

" Yeah it will. I promise it " she said.

" Promise are meant to be broken" sabi ko.

" Nah... That's the number one excuse of liars. " sabi niya tsaka ako hinila papuntang classroom.

" Let's go. Were late already!"
