Vrinda slowly opened her eyes, her body still aching from the injuries.

A dull pain radiated from her shoulder, but it was manageable.

As she shifted slightly, she became aware of a comforting weight on her other hand.

Turning her head, she saw Devam, asleep with his head resting on her hand.

A soft smile graced her lips.

For a moment, she simply watched him, his usually composed face now peaceful in slumber.

Her heart swelled with gratitude-not just for being alive but for having someone like him in her life.

She tried to move her hand to wake him, but the pain in her shoulder stopped her.

Instead, she whispered softly, "Devam..."

He stirred, his brows furrowing as he slowly woke up.

His eyes fluttered open, and for a moment, he seemed disoriented until his gaze locked onto her.

A smile spread across his face as relief washed over him.

"Vrinda! Aap thik hain?" he asked urgently, standing up straight. "Kahin dard toh nahi ho raha? Main doctor ko bulau?"

Her lips curled into a light chuckle, which only made him frown in confusion. "Aap has kyun rahi hain?"

In a low, slightly hoarse voice, she replied, "Main theek hoon, Devam. Aur tum bhool rahe ho ki tum bhi doctor ho."

Devam's lips twitched in amusement. "Aap apne sarcastic mode mein aa gayi hain-that means you're okay."

She nodded, the smile never leaving her face, and then gestured for him to come closer.

His brows knitted together. "Kya hua? Aapko kuch chahiye?"

"Paas aao," she said softly.

He hesitated but leaned forward.

"Thoda aur paas," she whispered.

Confused but obliging, he leaned in closer.

And before he could process what was happening, she lifted her head slightly and placed a soft kiss on his cheek.

Devam froze.

His eyes widened, and his breath hitched.

His heart felt like it was about to burst out of his chest as he snapped his gaze back to her, utterly stunned.

Vrinda chuckled at his expression, her smile widening. "Relax, Dr. Grewal," she said, her voice teasing but filled with warmth.

Before Devam could respond, the door opened, and the doctor walked in.

Flustered, Devam stepped back, his face flushed a deep shade of red.

He stood awkwardly to the side, trying to focus on the doctor's words, but his thoughts were a mess.

Vrinda, on the other hand, couldn't stop smiling.

She'd made him blush-and she was delighted to know that she had this effect on him.

In that moment, amidst the chaos of wires and machines, Vrinda felt a new kind of peace.

She had survived, she was safe, and she had someone who cared deeply for her.

And for now, that was more than enough.
