War's POV

"You don't have to keep me company." I said to Yin as he pulled the bedside table closer to me and placed the dinner tray for two on it.

"I don't really like to do this as well, just to make it clear," Yin responded, "but your father ordered me to do it, and as he is my boss, I have to do as he says."

I made a face as I grabbed the soup spoon and scooped some of the soup into my mouth.

"Oww!" I yelped in pain when it scalded my tongue.

"Why didn't you warn me that this was very hot?" I complained.

Yin did not reply. He was busy pulling out the dinner napkin from under the utensils and folding it at the edge.

I allowed him to wipe off the soup that had dripped from my mouth down my chin.

"I haven't tried it yet so I didn't know it was hot enough to scald you," he said as he continued to clean up my chin.

We finished our dinner in silence. Neither one of us was inclined to make conversation.

Surprisingly, because my headache had subsided, I found myself hungrily finishing up everything that was on the dinner tray.

Yin, on the other hand, didn't seem to have much of an appetite. He did finish up the tom yum soup and drank the tall glass of iced guava nectar to its last drop.

"You like the taste of guava?" I asked.

"Next to mango," he replied. "Guava is a close second. How about you?"

"I like the taste of tamarind juice," I replied. "I like it with lots of cane sugar."

"Be careful," he said, shaking his head. "Sugar is not good for your health."

"Don't lecture me," I grumbled. "You're not my father."

"I'm not saying I am," he said. "In fact, friendly reminder, I am younger than you."

"So then don't lecture me," I said. "Not now, not ever."

"You're a brat," he said. his face turning reproachful. "I think your father has spoiled you to the core."

"Shut up," I said, while scooting to the edge of the bed.

I didn't expect my knees to get wobbly when I stood up. Luckily Yin was quick to catch me before I fell to the floor.

"Where are you going?" he asked, his arms around me, not letting go of me because he was probably not sure if I would be able to hold myself up if he let go of me.

"To the bathroom," I replied.

Then a naughty thought came to me and I couldn't resist saying it out loud.

"I need you to help me get there and to unzip my pants and help me while I put my arms around your neck," I said with a straight face.

"I'm not doing that, you brat," he said sternly. "If you can't do it yourself, you better hold it in until you get your strength back."

I couldn't help myself from bursting out in loud laughter.

"Listen to you, sounding all prim and proper like a cloistered nun," I said.

By this time I was able to make myself steady on my feet and was able to make my way to the bathroom without incident.

When I got back, Yin was standing with his arms placed across his chest, his facial expression unreadable.

?Your phone rang while you were in the bathroom." he announced after a pause, like he was debating with himself whether to tell me something or not.

"I took the call for you," he said. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."

"Who called?" I asked.

"Your boyfriend," he replied. "He wants you to call him back."

"Tell me you're kidding," I said.
