𐔌 . prologue ! ౨ৎ
Brianna Rodriguez knew how her life would be, she would live on the island forever, being so wealthy she would own most of the island. She would find someone who was suitable for her, not who she actually loved, live her life with them, have kids, experience 'fun' things, and then die. That seemed to be the cycle of every kook on the island.
But this summer, B was determined to change her life, she was getting bored of the repetitive days.
Spending everyday at the Kook Academy, with people practically at your feet to have any kind of chance to be liked by you, is not something anyone would enjoy, Brianna was living proof.
She loved how all attention was on her at times, but then again, she wished she could just disappear and never return, slowly fading away from the perfect life that was created just for her.
And after all, everyone dies.
There was only one person on this earth Brianna truly cared for, her bestfriend, Summer Thornton.
Summer was the type of girl you could have a conversation with, without fearing you would be screamed at for anything you say, so she was practically the opposite of Bri.
However, they do say opposites attract.
Brianna and Summer had been friends for as long as they could remember, they grew up together, never leaving eachother. Despite Summer's brother, Topper being a total ass, Brianna had learn to cope with him over the years.
He totally had a crush on her, but she didn't feel for him one single bit.
This year he took a turn, somehow pulling Sarah Cameron, which she could do so much better than Topper Thornton.
Sarah was a kook, just like the rest of them, she was similar to Brianna in some ways, living off her parents money, their younger sisters bonded and they both wanted to escape the cycle of the perfect kook life.
Sarah also had a hot older brother, Rafe Cameron.
B didnt exactly have a crush on him, but if she got the chance, she definitely would be with him. However, it didn't seem as simple, as many would think, B could get anyone or anything she wanted in the matter of seconds, except when it would come to love.
She never believed in love, most likely because she never experienced it and she believed she never would.
Rafe was 19 and B was 16, so it would seem to weird for Rafe to date someone still in high school, the same age as his younger sister.
Brianna was never really close with her parents, she was extremely good at acting and hiding things though, so whenever they had an important event to attend to, B would do exactly as she was told, plant a smile on her face and pretend that everything was okay, when it never really was.
Her parents never hurt her, never anything physical, but she had felt extremely neglected ever since she was just a child. Her parents seemed to care about their image, wealth other than their two daughters, so they morely grew up with babysitters and nanny's than their own parents.
B had it easy compared to some of the people her age, she had a good life and had everything she could ever want, she never really struggled with anything, except her self image.
Every single fucking time she would look in that stupid, expensive, fancy ass mirror of hers that stood in the corner of her silent room, she just felt like breaking down into tears, curling into a ball and to never get up again.
And that's exactly what she did, several times. She hated the way that she was, her looks and how she acted so cold to everyone, but it's just who she is, and there's no changing the way you are when you've already dug too deep.
The damage was already done on B, everything she had done, will impact on the way she sees herself, others and everything else.
So, yes, even the rich kids, have things to hide behind their smug smile and their nonchalant acts.
