Finally, they had graduated 11th grade. Vanny leaned back against the tree outside the school, looking at the sky as if it were a wide, endless canvas waiting to be painted with their next adventure.

“Hey, DJ,” Vanny said, a playful glint in his eyes. “What should we do with our whole spring break ahead of us? We can’t just cuddle and do nothing all week.”

DJ smirked, leaning beside him with a grin that suggested mischief. “Why don’t we go to the beach? Just you and me. We could take pictures, relax, and do all the things we haven’t had time for.”

Vanny’s face lit up with excitement. “I’d love that! It sounds perfect.”

The next day, they arrived at the beach just as the sun climbed above the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over the sand and sea. The gentle crash of the waves and the salty breeze welcomed them as they stepped out onto the soft shore.

“Ahhh, we’re here, V,” DJ said, stretching his arms wide as if embracing the view.

Vanny breathed in deeply, savoring the fresh air. “It’s beautiful. Let’s set up a picnic by the water.”

They spread out a checkered blanket and laid out sandwiches, fruits, and Vanny’s favorite snacks. They spent the afternoon chatting, laughing, and taking silly photos, their joy echoing across the beach.

As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting streaks of orange, pink, and purple across the horizon, DJ looked over at Vanny, his eyes softening.

“You know, V,” DJ said, voice tinged with sincerity, “it’s moments like these that make me so grateful. I hope we can stay like this forever, that nothing ever breaks us apart.”

Vanny chuckled, giving DJ a playful shove. “Cut the crap, DJ. You’re getting all sentimental on me.”

DJ laughed, rubbing his arm where Vanny had pushed him. “I mean it,” he said, the seriousness returning to his expression. He took a deep breath. “I’ve wanted to do this for a while, and there’s no better moment than now, with this beautiful sunset and being here with you.”

Before Vanny could say anything, DJ leaned in and kissed him, a gentle, heartfelt moment framed by the crashing waves and the sun’s last rays.

They pulled back, eyes locked, and smiled. The world around them seemed to fade away, leaving only the two of them in that perfect, infinite moment.

“Forever,” Vanny whispered.

“Forever,” DJ echoed, their hands intertwined as the sun finally set.
