A dark blue egg drifted across the sea, bobbing up and down. The sand gently filled the scratches, and a large, intimidating dragon gazed down upon it.

12 Years Later

An eleven year old dragonborn boy walked along the orphanage beach. He had been told so many times that he was found washed up on this very shore, and hatched about a year later. Sky. A fitting name, for somebody with ocean blue hair. He had never liked being a dragonborn. Almost a dragon. Horns and a tail, at least he had that. But he looked human. The cool, crisp breeze gently rustled his hair as he walked across the warm summer sand. His eyes were big and blue and had freckles on each of his cheeks. Sky was shifty, always nervous, as if somebody was watching him. He swifty spun around, breathing heavily. His eyes shifted from side to side, and as he realized nobody was there he sighed a deep breath of relief. A joking voice came from behind. "Nobody's behind you, Wave-o." He turned around again and saw Cardinal. Cardinal Sky's closest friend. He was a red, powerful dragon with piercing orange eyes. He was a fire dragon, and Wave-o was what he called Sky. Sky had tried to retort by calling him Cardy, but it had gotten old and passed. They were like brothers. "Well, no harm in checking." Said Sky sassily. He knew he wasn't making a point, but he still felt the need to say it. "Gods, it is blazing outside today. Did something catch on fire?" All of a sudden, it happened again. Something was there. He knew it. He could feel its presence. His eyes scanned the beach. Eyes. For the first time, he saw them. They were everywhere. Two pairs, green and gray. Just... floating. And then they were gone. "What's wrong, Wave-No? Scared?" A claw, cold yet soft, grabbed his shoulder. Knew it. Wave-No is at it again. He thought. The claw belonged to Birch, a large earth dragon who was Sky's self-elected tormenter. All of a sudden, Birch felt something cold and clammy grab his neck, from right behind him. He turned to see a dragon- water, it appeared, holding his neck with a gigantic talon. The creature disappointed as fast as it had came, and Birch ran away about ten times faster. "What's up with him today?" went Cardinal. "Guess you scared 'em away."
