"Adisyn." A voice echoes, causing me to groan. "What do you want?" I spit, somehow finding a bit of courage deep down inside me.
"Don't you talk back." The voice hisses, causing me to whimper, crawling backwards. "There's the little bitch I have gotten to know." They laugh, looking at me intently. "Thought you're little lover boy could save you eh?" They cackle, causing me to groan.
"He's not as strong as you thought, he doesn't love you enough to come back for you. Soon enough he will reject you, pushing you aside like everyone else does. Then, the pain of your mate rejecting you will kill you." They laugh.
"He won't reject me." I counter, my eyes watering. "Yeah, he won't reject you." They laugh, shaking their head. "You're funny." They laugh, knocking me backwards. My wolf starts to push forwards, taking dominance.
I go to lunge forwards before noticing that I am shackled to the wall, the chains refraining me from getting to my kidnapper. I then hiss, looking down and seeing my worst enemy, silver. My wrists begin to burn as I scream.
Silver is the worst thing you can put anywhere near a werewolf. "Adisyn." A different, more soothing voice calls faintly. "Ads!" The voice repeats anxiously.
I shoot up, gasping for breath as I meet my favourite pair of blue eyes. "Dax." I whimper, reaching up and wrapping my arms tightly around his neck. He nods as he gazes on me attentively, as if he were frightened. "I've got you baby girl." He assures.
I notice I am still in the same position I was when I fell asleep. Sprawled across Dax's lap lazily, his arms, wrapped tightly around me, my head over his heart. "Are you okay?" He asks, causing me to nod. "Ads, baby girl, come on." He coaxes, causing me to sigh, burying my face in his shirt.
"I'm sorry." I whimper, causing him to tense up. "What's wrong baby girl?" He asks, causing me to sigh. "I have issues Dax, I'm scared." I whimper, causing Daxton to shake his head.
"Ads, sweetheart." He sighs. "Talk to me about this, what's going on?" He asks, causing me to look at him oddly. "You aren't mad at me?" I ask , causing him to return my confused look. "I could never be mad at you." He explains.
"I have an idea though." He says, taking my face in his hands gently. "Have you ever heard of a mind link?" He asks, causing me to shake my head. "Well, wolves have the abilities to make a mental connection with people. These connections make it possible for the people it's between to communicate through thoughts." He says, causing my eyes to widen.
"L-like the one you have with in a pack?" I ask, causing him to nod. "Yeah, but it would just be the two people who can talk between it." He explains. "I think we should make one." He says simply.
"T-that means you could get into my memories, my thoughts." I stutter, thinking his words through.
"Yes, but you could see mine too Adisyn." He says, causing me to smirk deviously. "Don't give me that look, you see, that look is never good." He laughs.
"I don't know that much about you." I say, causing him to nod. "Yeah, I know." He says quietly. "Are you sure you want to do that?" I ask, causing him to nod. "Yeah, I do. I don't want any secrets between us, even my dark ones." He nods.
I smile at him, wrapping him in a tight hug. This surprises him, though he reciprocates my hug just as tightly. "What's this for? He whispers, his voice tainted with confusion. "No one has ever cared enough to let me in." I whisper, burying my head into the crook of his neck.
I feel his smile as he kisses the top of my head. "I care about you more than anything Adisyn." He confirms. "You're my mate, I would do anything for you. Even if it hurts me." He adds. "I don't want you to be hurt though." I say, leaning back so I could lean my forehead on his.
"I know, but there are things Ads, things you deserve to know about me." He sighs. "T-they may make you see me differently, I-I don't really know. But Adisyn, the me that you've seen is the me that I am now. You've changed me, for the better, and just know I would never let anything happen to you." He whispers, stroking my cheek with his thumb.
"Is it really that bad?" I ask. "What has happened to you, is it going to change us?" I question, thoughts whipping through my head. "It is really that bad, Adisyn." He says sadly. I lean in, leaving a feather light kiss on his lips.
"I promise you, how I feel about you won't change." I whisper, running my fingers through his hair. "But I want you to remember somethings too." I say, sighing. He pulls back to look at me, confused. "What you see about me, it isn't who I am. It was who I had to be to survive there, in that hell." I sigh. "Just, don't freak out too much, don't panic, or get upset, I'm fine." I say, causing him to look at me skeptically.
"Adisyn, you've been hiding things from me, haven't you?" He asks, his tone sounding so broken. I nod, hanging my head down low. "You don't need to hide things from me." He whispers, my wolf stirring at his sadness.
'Fix it! Fix him, now!' My wolf, Whitney, hisses. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. It's just, somethings surfaced while you were away and I didn't get to talk to you about it." I say, stroking his cheek gently. He shoots me a small smile, muttering under his breath.
"So, do we want to make the link?" He asks, his gaze on me intently. "It could come in handy, if anything were to happen. Plus, it is true that neither of us should be keeping secrets from each other." I ponder aloud.
"I don't see why not." I say, nodding. "Let's do it." I confirm. "Okay, Adisyn, close your eyes." He instructs, causing me to comply as I nod. "Okay." He says, leaning his forehead on mine. "This might hurt a little, I'm sorry little one." He whispers, taking both of my hands in his. I nod again, trusting him.
I suddenly feel a shooting pain go through my head, a burning pain. I wince, but manage some how to remain still, continuing to let Daxton forge the connection. Suddenly, I am driven backwards by an unknown force, causing me to land with a thud on the living room floor.
Daxton gets up instantly, lifting me back up on to my feet. 'Sorry Ads.' He says, causing my eyes to widen. His mouth didn't move, the mind link, it must have worked. 'It's okay.' I reply, causing him to smile. 'It worked!' He exclaims, spinning me around in his arms.
'I noticed that.' I laugh, shaking my head at him. 'Oh my goodness! Dax! You know what we could do with this?!' I ask, my face displaying nothing but pure excitement. 'What little one?' He asks, his tone amused.
'We could start a magic act! Like, for mere mortals. Because it is like, we can read each other's minds! How cool would that be? We could scare the crap out of strangers!' I exclaim. He shakes his head, kissing my forehead gently. 'Weirdo.' He accuses. 'I'm your weirdo.' I correct.
'I like that, yes, you're my weirdo...'
