-Worried Mother-

Chapter 7:

I sat there and watched as my daughter was training. Little Vanessa was taking a beating by the boy's and I knew they did it on purpose. She never gave up.. No matter how much it hurt. She kept going.

Vincent watched and said nothing as the guys giggled at her trying to be like them.
I bit my lip because this was the perfect age to be bullied and I did not want that for her.

One of the boy's flipped her as she landed on her back taking the breath out of her . I ran out side to her as she sat up looking at me.
Bruises marked her pretty face.

Did I make the right choice.. Should I allow this as her mother?

"Mommy, I am fine. " she smiled.

I rubbed her cheek and sighed.
"How about a snack?"

She nodded as I smiled and grabbed her hand as the young boys bowed to me showing respect. I walked past them and in the kitchen.
Amy and Sara were preparing cut apple's and caramel. With a soft ice tea drink.
Vanessa went and washed her hand's as she sat down in her seat.

Vikki was off with Lark and my father as they patrolled the woods.

I stayed her to watch over the house. Since we still had hunter's on our asses.

"Mom, the boys are laughing at me saying I'm weak and stupid for training.. Vincent doesn't back me up."

I looked at her placing her food infront of her.

Amy laughed.
"Boy's are just mean and scared you will be strong than then"

She light up smiling.

"Indeed. They are just mad because your a girl. "

"But you being a girl makes no difference." Sara added.

She nodded smiling.
"Boys are weird" she plopped a apple slice in her mouth.

She looked at me her eye popping out.
"Hey mom, everyone is talking about mate's.. What is a mate?"

Sara half chocked on her food as I snapped my eyes are her sighing.
"Well, mate's are basically your other half. They make you feel safe and loved."

"Will I have one?" She asked worried.

I nodded smiling.
"Of course you will."

She giggled.

I bit my lip.
"Did Vincent ask about it?"

"He didn't ask much, he said he didn't want a mate, that he had to look after me and you and daddy."

I smiled at how cute it was. But worried that my son did not want a mate. Which sadly he will get on his 16th birthday.

Vikki walked in with Lark. As she smiled and kissed my head
"What is everyone talking about?"

I looked at her .
"Your daughter asked about mate's"

Vikki stared at me than looked at her.
"Oh yeah.."

"MMMHM " Vanessa yelled.

Vikki sat down with some apples.
She rubbed Vanessa's cheek and frowned at the bruises.

"You shouldn't train, look at your face."

"It will heal. If she want's train let her." I warned her.

"It's fun daddy, plus i will be stronger than them." She giggled.

Vikki rubbed her cheek more, I knew exactly what she was thinking. She was gonna be the tough parent and probably make Vanessa pissed.

"Vanessa." She started.

"Vanessa it looks like they are going running, better go."

Vanessa smiled and ran off to Jason.
Vikki looked at me as I rolled my eyes.

"She can't do this, she isn't us."

"Your right she isn't us, she is stronger than us. Born a hybrid . You can't break her dream's shelter her in the house to protect her. She is a kid and need's to learn new things let it be." I warned.

"Let it be?" She raised her voice.

Amy, Sara and Lark all looked uncomfortable.

"Yes let it be! If she wants to train let her." I snapped.

"And let her walk around with bruises?! Mark's? I will not stand for this Melissa."

"It's not your choice it's her, do you want her to grow up and hate you because you made her life into a hermit"

"I rather her hate me than to see her in pain."

I shook my head.
"You don't understand ."
I grabbed my coffee and walked away but she only followed. Knowing this will turn into a fight and I really didn't want that.

"Don't understand what? Our daughter is not us. She is weak and fragile." She grabbed my arm.

There were pack mate's in the living room but ignored us.

"Weak? Fragile? I was a human for fuck sake! I was all those things! I changed so can she, stop doubting our daughter."

She glared at me and said nothing .

"I was pathetic, but learned to be strong. Vincent as her mate will help her become strong when we cannot. Yes she is fragile that's because she is young."

Lark came running in breathing heavy.
"Vanessa got hurt. Badly."

My eyes widened as I pushed passed him and outside. Vikki on my tail.

She was laying on the ground holding her chest.
I got on the ground and grabbed her.
"Baby!"

"She got the wind knocked out of her and maybe a broken rib.." Lark replied.

Vikki stayed quiet. Cause she maybe was right.

Vanessa was trying to catch her breathe but was smiling at me.
I was confused on why she was smiling.
"Mom- I- got him- down- once." She breathed out.

Violet came running over with her back and lifted her shirt, bruises marked her small figure as I frowned.

"You got him down huh.."

She nodded smiling. I looked over at the boys as they were giggling and smirking. Vincent stayed quiet and motionless. I glared at him as he looked away.

"Vanessa maybe training isn't-

"I wanna train." She snapped.

Vikki came down to her head and rubbed her cheek.
"You could of stopped breathing."

"But I didn't." She replied.

I bit my lip and rubbed her cheek.

Violet had two guys lightly lift her up as she whined. I frowned and looked at Violet.

"She need's to stop or next time will be worse." She walked away following them inside .

I stayed out there and looked to the sky.
What was a mother to do when her daughter had a dream.. Crush it?
I gripped my fist. Being a mother was hard.
