The London night was heavy with a cold drizzle as Y/N sat on the worn leather couch backstage, hugging her knees to her chest. The muffled sound of the audience filling the venue echoed through the walls, but all she could hear was the voices of her thoughts. She took a deep breath, hoping to shake off the negativity for tonight's show.

It had been weeks since the last time she’d felt like herself. The pressure of being a public figure, the endless hate comments, and her own self-imposed expectations were piling up to a breaking point. The usual banter and comfort she found with the boys of One Direction just weren’t enough to drown out the noise in her head anymore. She felt like she was drowning in expectations—both her own and those thrust upon her by the world.

Her eyes stung as she scrolled through Twitter, her fingers trembling. Another set of cruel comments about how she didn’t belong in the band. How she was just a tag-along to the boys, a backup singer who was out of her depth flooded her feed. The harsh words cut deeper than she cared to admit.

“Y/N?” A soft voice broke through her haze. She looked up to see Harry standing in the doorway, concern etched on his face. His green eyes, usually so full of mischief, were soft with worry.

“Hey,” she forced a smile, quickly wiping at her eyes. But Harry wasn’t fooled.

“What’s going on, love?” he asked, stepping closer and sitting beside her. The familiar scent of his cologne was comforting, like a lifeline tethering her to reality.

“Nothing, I’m just… tired, I guess,” she lied, shrugging her shoulders to downplay. But Harry’s frown deepened.

“Liam, can you come here?” he called over his shoulder, and moments later, Liam joined them, his brows furrowing as he saw Y/N’s red-rimmed eyes.

“What happened?” Liam asked gently, kneeling in front of her.

“I’m fine, really. Just need a minute,” she insisted, though her voice wavered. But they knew her too well to be convinced by her reassurances. They can see obviously that she's not fine, at all.

“Y/N, talk to us,” Liam urged, placing a comforting hand on her knee. “We’re here for you.”

She hesitated, then finally let out a shaky breath. “I just… I don’t think I’m good enough for this. I’m always overthinking, always second-guessing myself. And everyone online—” She choked up, unable to finish the sentence. “It’s just getting harder to ignore.”

Harry and Liam exchanged a look before Liam’s expression softened. “Y/N, you don’t have to carry all of this by yourself. We see how hard you work. We see everything you do for us.”

“I know you say that, but…” Y/N’s voice trailed off. The tears she’d been holding back finally spilled over. Harry instinctively pulled her into a tight hug, one arm around her shoulders while Liam rubbed her back soothingly.

"Why is it so hard?" She sobbed out, she's no longer stopping herself from letting it all out. Just then, the rest of the boys filed in. Niall, Louis, and Zayn immediately sensed the tension in the air.

“What’s going on?” Niall asked, eyes wide with concern.

Y/N shook her head, trying to pull herself together, but Louis was already kneeling next to Liam, his voice softer than she was used to hearing from him. “Hey, what’s wrong, love?”
