It hurts because it was real

,,I don't know anymore what of your words I can still believe. You don't need to lie to me or do anything anymore. Plawan. You've won. The sales contract is on the table. Take it to Methas for him to sign and schedule the transfer date. Then you can do whatever the hell you want with this place. I'M DONE WITH EVERYTHING. All this time, it's my own stupidity. From now on, let's pretend none of this ever happened."

"Chef, chef, stay with me!" Plawan wakes up, the remnants of a dream—or perhaps a nightmare—reminding him of the argument that happened only a few weeks ago. He wanted to talk to Chef Oab, to express how sorry he was, how much he loved him, and how he hoped they could be together again. He tried to call him and even visited Nabnueng to see if Oab was okay, but he didn't know how to contact him to apologize.

Apology wasn't the only thing he wanted to convey to Chef Oab. Thanks to a loophole in his agreement with Methas, which stated that he had to either hand over the restaurant or pay Methas back, he managed to keep it. Plawan returned all the money and secured a loan from the bank to pay Methas and reclaim ownership of the restaurant. This was only possible because of his best friend, JJ, who had supported him almost every step of the way. Plawan knew that, thanks to JJ, Methas hadn't even tried to sue him. JJ kept denying it, but Plawan suspected he had fallen in love with the businessman. He was confident it wouldn't be long before they started dating.

Wanting to keep the restaurant thriving, Plawan reached out to Kluea, a chef whose skills surpassed his own. They had a heartfelt conversation and rekindled their friendship. Now, Plawan owned the restaurant, with Kluea and Auto working diligently in the kitchen. He also preserved all the basil plants on the rooftop, caring for them just as Oab had done.

It was five in the morning when he woke up. "Three hours of sleep—my most in 43 days," he told himself as he began to get ready. Now that he owned the restaurant, he moved into the apartment that belonged to Chef Oab, feeling a little closer to him. As the first one awake, he got ready, not forgetting to put the letter in his pocket, you never know. He then went to the kitchen to prepare vegetables for Kluea and Auto, so they wouldn't have to worry about those small tasks.

"Good morning!" Kluea and Auto greeted him in unison as they arrived. It must have been around seven. The three of them had breakfast together, discussing the menu for the next week. After a while, they heard footsteps approaching and then an energetic, "Good morning, everyone! I hope you all slept well." Plawan gave JJ a look that said, "Are you for real right now?" but replied, "I guess the bed at Methas's house must be comfy if you're full of energy. He must still be sleeping if you're here this early without him." Kluea and Auto chuckled over their coffee, while JJ stuttered in response, ultimately not denying it.

This was Plawan's routine: waking from memories of that horrible day after only a few hours of sleep, preparing vegetables for the day, having breakfast with his friends, and then going to the rooftop to tend to the basil. The rooftop was his next stop. His friends knew he wanted to be alone whenever he cared for the plants, so they stayed on the second floor, talking and waiting for him to return.

Plawan watered almost all the plants; the only ones remaining were those on the shelf. He always saved those for last because he needed a chair to reach them, allowing him to see the entire city. As he watered the last plant, his head began to spin, and before he knew it, he fell, hitting his head on a nearby table and losing consciousness. Thankfully, JJ, Kluea, and Auto heard the noise and rushed to the rooftop, where they found Plawan unconscious with a wound on his head. Kluea and Auto tried to talk to him while assessing the injury, and JJ called for an ambulance.

After arriving at the hospital and speaking with the doctor, JJ approached Kluea and Auto. "He's alive, but due to lack of sleep and head trauma, he isn't waking up. The doctor said it's similar to a coma. Apparently, he shouldn't have any other problems; he just needs to rest and will wake up on his own when his body is ready." With that explanation, Kluea and Auto felt more at ease. While waiting for Plawan to regain consciousness, JJ called Methas to inform him of the situation. "Don't go anywhere; I'm on my way," was the response he received. He hadn't realized how much he needed Methas with him at that moment. Meanwhile, Kluea and Auto contacted their good friend Punsib from the competition to inform him about what had happened to Plawan. During the call, Punsib decided to let Chef Nubnueng know that he couldn't help him today: "Plawan is in the hospital, and he doesn't want to wake up. I need to go."
