Chapter 3| Shy DiscretionThere were many things Orea hated in her life, and this was one of them. " So, tell me Orea, how are you doing today?" The blonde before her asked, his hand scratching his back awkwardly, It took everything in her not to roll her eyes, was he blind? He could see that she was doing good, still, she gave him a shrug.
" I am doing good Mart, thanks for... Asking," Mart nodded, a blush on his cheek, a deep contrast to his olive skin, " and you? How are you doing Today, " she questioned, hating Ana for arranging a date she couldn't meet up with, why did she have to be the one pushed in awkward situations just because she had a better, healthier hair than her friend.
" Good, I am good," Mart squeaked, fraustrated, Orea played with the ring on her finger, if she was given a choice, she'd rather be with her sweet delights, Mart bit his lip, " you look... Breathtaking," he added, his breath shallow like that of someone who had just seen a fairy, Orea did roll her eyes this time around.
" Thanks, you don't look bad yourself," Mart blushed, a shade deeper, " i-" Orea was made pause by the ringing of her phone, " I have to take this," she flashed him a smile, " yes? Oh my God," she gasped, standing abruptly, she picked up her pause, " I really need to go, there is an emergency at my cafe, you can come visit sometime, I a really sorry," she added.
Before Mart could say anything else, she was out the door, Carol had been the one to call her, she had not even heard what Carol had to say before she made her excuse, as she headed for her car, she searched for the car key, only to bump into someone, " ow," she muttered, looking up only to scowl at the orange-red head before her, " you should look where you are going Mr," she chided.
The man gave her a once over, shocked a little to see the her, her cheek reddened a little at the look in his eyes, although, she soon snapped out of it and snapped a hand in front of him to get his attention,"My apologies," he replied, blinking a little, then he was gone, this made her scoff, she passed him an annoyed glare and returned to her search.
When she arrived at the cafe, there were loud chatters, which all died down the moment she walked in the cafe, some people whistled while others just gapped at her, Orea wasn't phased by all this, instead she made her way to the changing room and returned to to her lovely kitchen, " wow," Carol breathed out, standing behind.
"Don't," she warned, " I didn't even want to go to the stupid date, Liliana pushed me to go, after deciding to ditch the guy to go for an hair appointment," she groaned, Carol chuckled.
" you must have mocked her hair again," she stated, "Ana and her minons, I am surprised you have dealt with her for 4 years straight, I'd have murdered her all this while,"
" Tell me about it," Orea muttered, rolling her eyes, though she wondered if Carol really did mean it, afterall, the girl was a psychopath and Orea had been waiting and anticipating for the girl to have some blood in her hand so that she could cross the bridge when she got there.
After that little chat, they got to work, serving customers, baking, making cocktails, running around, the day was so busy that they didn't even have the time to exchange more than those few words, when Orea was on her way back home this time, she caught a man walking behind her, at first, she passed it off as nothing, only stopping to face him when he wouldn't go away.
"What do you want?" She questioned, after rounding off a corner, she stood to face him, glancing at her watch, the man following her didn't stop though, he walked painfully slow till he was standing before her, " I asked you a question didn't I?" She added.
It irked her out to see the same orange-red haired guy who had bumped at her earlier the day, the same one who kept looking at her like a creep in his cafe. What the hell was the guys problem? She knew she was a flower who attracted moths and dangerous creatures, a beauty who attracted psychopaths.
" Orea, right," the man questioned, then handed something to her, " you dropped this," she eyed him, then looked at his folded hand, which he opened to reveal a beautiful black moon shaped ring, Orea gasped, glancing back at her hand to find her ring missing, she snatched it from him.
" Where did you find this?" She questioned.
" It fell when you bumped into me,"
Orea scoffed, " whatever, you could have just handed it over instead of following me like a creep,"
" I am not a creep," he retorted, frowning at her, Orea rolled her eyes.
"Well, since you have done your job, you should leave, I don't like being followed," she then put on her ring and started walking away, her heart calm, eyes closed in relief.
" You shouldn't be walking alone at night," he was beside her now.
" What? So creeps like you won't have the chance to hurt me? Don't worry, I can protect myself, " The man said nothing to her word, she really did expect him to retort, he said nothing as he walked her to her house, Orea didn't bother to talk to him either, she couldn't imagine having a conversation with the creep.
Once he walked her home, he left, without another word, Orea walked into her house, Ana was not back yet, so she headed to her room, stripped out of her clothes, soaked herself in a warm bath, wrapped a robe around her when she walked out, then she headed to the window and watched the moon, a cup of coffee in hand, hands wrapped around herself.
Unknown to her that a figure stood afar, watching her.
