The warehouse felt cold, the air heavy with unspoken secrets as Lily faced the hooded figure.

“Who are you?” Lily repeated, her heart pounding.

“I told you, I’m someone who knows about your father’s past,” the woman said, her voice steady but laced with urgency. “And I’m here to help you understand what you’re up against.”

“Why should I trust you?” Lily challenged, her instincts on high alert.

“Because I have information that could change everything,” the woman replied, stepping closer. “Your father’s death was no accident, and it ties directly to Marcus.”

Lily’s stomach twisted at the mention of her father. “What do you mean? He was a mafia king—of course, there were enemies.”

The woman shook her head. “No, it was more than that. Your father was involved in something much larger. Something that your mother doesn’t know about.”

“Tell me everything,” Lily demanded, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Not here,” the woman insisted. “We’re not safe. I have a place where we can talk—somewhere they can’t find us.”

Ian stepped forward, his protective instincts flaring. “And how do we know you won’t lead us into a trap?”

The woman met Ian’s gaze, her expression fierce. “You don’t. But I’m willing to risk my life to help you. Time is running out. Marcus is planning something, and it involves you.”

A chill ran down Lily’s spine at the urgency in her tone. “What do you want from me?”

“To prepare you,” she replied. “To make sure you’re ready for the storm that’s coming.”

Lily exchanged a glance with Ian, who seemed torn between caution and the desperate need for answers. Finally, he nodded, signaling his agreement.

“Fine,” Lily said, her heart racing. “Lead the way.”

The woman led them through a maze of abandoned streets until they reached a small, inconspicuous building tucked away in a corner. Inside, the atmosphere shifted. The dim lighting and cluttered space felt oddly comforting.

Once inside, the woman pulled down her hood, revealing striking features framed by dark hair. “I’m Min-Ji,” she introduced herself.

“Lily,” she replied, eyeing her warily. “What do you know about my father?”

Min-Ji took a deep breath. “Your father was involved in a deal with a powerful organization that wanted to control the mafia in Korea and Italy. It was a gamble—a chance to unite the two under one banner. But it went wrong, and many lives were lost.”

Lily’s heart raced. “What does this have to do with Marcus?”

“Marcus is connected to that organization,” Min-Ji explained, her voice steady. “He’s been trying to finish what your father started, and he won’t stop until he has what he wants.”

“Why didn’t my mother ever tell me?” Lily asked, frustration building.

“Because she’s trying to protect you. She didn’t want you to carry the weight of that knowledge. But now, it’s too late. The past is catching up with all of you,” Min-Ji replied.

Ian leaned forward, intrigued. “What do you suggest we do?”

“You need to gather your allies,” Min-Ji said, her eyes glinting with determination. “The Black Mambas and The Devils must work together. Only then can you face Marcus and the organization behind him.”
