Sidney made it to the hospital soaked to the bone. It had been raining all day but once she'd gotten the call that Randy was awake she hadn't hesitated one second, she'd just left her dorm and practically ran all the way to the hospital. It had been touch and go for days but Sidney had never lost hope that he'd make it through, surviving the vicious attack on him by Nancy Loomis.

Her wet shoes squeaked against the hospital floors as she rushed up to his room where she found Randy surrounded by his family, his blue eyes open and instantly locking on her once she reached the doorway.

"R-Randy...oh my god..." She whispered, tears starting to fall down her cheeks but she hesitated then, unsure if she was allowed to enter the room so she just hovered by the door, water pooling at her feet.

"We'll give you some privacy." Randy's mother said then, smiling at Sidney before she gently pet her son's hair and pressed a kiss on his temple. "We'll be in the cafeteria, do you need anything sweetheart?"

"No, ma..." Randy said with a tired voice but he smiled at his mother.

Sidney stayed by the doorway as the Meeks left the room, leaving the two alone. There were wires attached to Randy, machine's all around him and he had an oxygen mask over his face, it fogged slightly every time Randy took a shallow breath and it only made Sidney's tears fall harder.

"I'm not...Sidney...come here..." Randy spoke softly, his voice sounding breathless and he lifted a shaky hand, beckoning her closer.

Sidney barely held back a broken sound as she rushed over to his bedside, taking his hand in both of hers and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Jesus Sid...your hands are so cold..." Randy winced but held on to her as best he could, though his grip was weak.

"Sorry...I...I came as soon as I heard you were awake...I...I'm so happy you're..." Sidney rambled a little, her voice shaky as she tried to hold back her emotions.

"Alive?" Randy finished for her and she nodded, bringing his hand up to her lips to kiss Randy's knuckles.

He looked deathly pale, almost paler than his hospital gown, with dark circles under his eyes but he was breathing. Weakly, but breathing. Sidney squeezed his hand again tighter, afraid to let go now.

"You're...drenched...what...?"

Sidney smiled and shook her head, bringing Randy's hand up again so she could press another kiss on it. "I'm fine, it's just raining and well...I didn't have anyone to give me a lift here so I...walked.

Randy looked at her with a sad frown, giving her hands a weak squeeze. "Sidney I'm so sorry...about Hallie and...Derek..."

They fell silent for a long while, both lost in their own painful thoughts. They'd lost more of their friends, they'd been betrayed, again. Dewey wasn't fairing much better than Randy and Randy himself was just about clinging to life.

"It was...fucked up that it happened to us once...but twice? Fuck..." Randy cursed and then used his free hand to fix the oxygen mask over his face more comfortably. "I...Sidney I'm so glad you're...alright..."

Sidney smiled at him and tenderly touched his messy hair, brushing it back from his forehead. "You'll be alright too, you just need to rest..." She said softly.

Randy managed a small smile as he looked up at Sidney. There were so many things he wanted to tell her, so many things he longed to confess that he had momentarily feared he'd never get to say to her. But he recognised that now was also not the right time for them. Sidney had just lost another boyfriend.
