The rain fell from the sky,
washing away the blood from my deep cuts.
I'm a little klutz; I'd never do this,
but destiny had different plans. The leaves fell, like a gauze,
though it stung—still, it was for a good cause.
For me, for them, for him,
for everyone in my past.I slumped as my armour fell from my chest,
free from duty, free for rest.
A deep breath finally drawn,
a hope I've craved for so long. The sky, frosted with fog and cool light,
embraced me in winter's tender bite.
The cold breeze dried the red tears my wounds cried,
as I questioned if killing myself along with everyone else was right.
