There were loud cheers around the stadium when I arrived Astrid was still pissed but I managed to sneak of and find Hiccup.I heard Stoick's loud voice bellow,"Well I can show my face again in public now! If somebody told me that in a few short weeks Hiccup would go from, well being uh Hiccup to placing first in dragon training well I would've tied them to a mast and shipped him of fearing he had gone mad! And you know it! But here we are no ones more surprised and more proud than I am. Today my boy becomes a viking TODAY HE BECOMES ONE OF US!" Stoick finished.
"Be careful with that dragon. I... I don't want you to get hurt."I whispered the last bit hoping he wouldn't hear me. I don't think he did as he just nodded. "Its not the dragon I'm worried about," he finally spoke up watching his father.
"What are you gonna do?" I asked curiously. But the nerves were still in my voice.
"Put an end to this." He responded confidently. I felt my heart flutter but I pushed it away. Ignoring it balling it up in the back of my brain. I already made a mistake last night kissing him I wasn't going to do that again. I couldn't do that to Astrid it would ruin our friendship I wouldn't have her back. We made an oath and I had already broke it only a few weeks after. I focused on the present as Hiccup said,"I have to try. Cas," I liked how he said my name it made me light up inside and feel happy I shook my head clearing my thoughts. Listening intently as he turned round to face me."If... if something goes wrong just make sure they don't find toothless."
"I will,"I replied."But just promise me it won't go wrong. I-"I cut myself of. "Although it seems your dad would hate you he needs you."
He smiled.
"Its time Hiccup,"Gobber said,"Which one?"
"Um the monstrous nightmare." Hiccup replied.
"Right knock em dead,"Gobber said.
I pulled Hiccup into a hug. Gobber quirked an eyebrow surprised."Please."I whispered in his ear."Please, be careful."
He nodded putting on his helmet and walking out as the gate shut behind him I gripped the bars tight watching him. As he grabbed a small knife and a shield.
And I vaguely hear Stoick say,"I would have gone for the hammer."
My face turned into one of shock at the fact he was criticising every move his son made.
"I'm ready," Hiccup said and Gobber pushed down the lever out side the arena to open the cage.
And I held my breath as it slowly opened.
The monstrous nightmare bursted out just milliseconds after the cage was open eager to get out. Probably hoping he would become free.
It clambered over the walls trying to find the exit.
It blew some fire through the bars at some vikings who gasped and moved away quickly. It climbed quickly over the chains at the top of the arena and then stopped it had seen Hiccup. Knowing it's job and Hiccup's the dragon dropped down to the ground and growled.
The dragon neared closer and Hiccup dropped the knife and the shield stepping back.
I looked up to watch Stoicks reaction. Gobber looked petrified. He muttered something but I didn't hear it probably asked Gobber what Hiccup was doing.
I narrowed my eyes watching Hiccup now carefully. He shushed the dragon. Is this how he tamed Toothless?
Hiccup took of his helmet throwing it to the ground there were gasps of,"What is he doing!" or "What's he thinking!" and "Oh my Thor!". Hiccup continued saying loudly and clearly,"I'm not one of them!"
