Narcissa Salem had never been opposed to the idea of death. She was always a glass half empty kind of gal. Of course, she never did want to die. But something about the experience made her question what it was like. It wasn't a fetish or anything. It was more like the thought of sex, she didn't want to do it, at least not at this age, but it did find ways to creep into her thoughts. This is why she didn't even question when she got an acceptance letter from hogwarts. She didn't care for witchcraft, she was good at it, but she didn't care. She thought about this experience as a nice thing that one could enjoy in life.
Narcissa's parents had some different perspectives on this Hogwarts experience. Both of them went to Hogwarts, but they hated it because it was dangerous. She couldn't just tell them that she didn't care about that shit. Who wants their eleven-year old to be thinking that way.
"I just think that you are too young to be experiencing that kind of fear," her mother remarked. Narcissa hatted when she did this. Her mom always acted like she cared, but it was really just her way of saying, "I don't want to buy all this stuff for you."
"Mom, I'll be fine, my friend's mom also offered to pay for my stuff." Narcissa saw the corner of her moms mouth extend. She could tell that she was persuaded. Narcissa knows that she would also want to send her daughter away for free, but she knew her mom couldn't just say yes in front of her father. Narcissa's father has always been overprotective. It was quite annoying that he cared more about her dying than she did.
"Honey," her dad started, "I just think that it may be too dangerous. When I was there, many kids almost, and did, die." Narcissa let out a sigh. She didn't even know why she was fighting for this school. To be honest, the school was just a three star way of getting some young kids to fight their battles. She knew that some kids were into that, fetish or not, but that's just not what she was into. But she figured that if there were people dying, then it would be a fun time for her, so she would at least try.
"Listen dad, I'll be fine. I know how to protect myself." She didn't bother telling her mom it would be fine. Now, don't get the wrong idea, she wasn't just here for death. Death was a main part, for she wanted to get the first hand experience, but she thought it would be a good idea to learn these spells if she was ever in the position of dying. "Hey, maybe it is a fetish." She thought to herself.
"Fine, you can go, but just promise me you won't die." She nodded her head in agreement, but didn't mean it. Narcissa could go on about death, but she was sure she already got her point across. She didn't see herself becoming a huge famous wizard in the future. Again, she was pessimistic. Narcissa groaned, she lifted her heavy bones from the silk coach and headed upstairs. She headed over to the landline on her wall. Her parents let her use this one for personal use, so she crafted some shit voicemail, and was on her way. She put in her friend's number, the one that would pay for her stuff, and dialed it.
"Hello you've reached your bestie here, it's Pandora Storm! If you are hearing this, I am out of the house. Please text me, and if you don't have my number, why the fuck are you calling me. Have a nice day bitch!" The phone played out the dreaded voicemail. Narcissa flinched at the sound of her friend's voice. She had to admit that it sounded like nails on a chalkboard. Just thinking about it sent shivers down her spine. They had always had very different tastes. She had a fetish about death, and Pandora, well, had some interesting fetishes. She knew what a fetish was too, something that is weirdly linked to sexual attraction, and she just liked corpses.
Narcissa could also be called a narcissist. It was less like she was obsessed with herself, and more like she was obsessed with the way she looked. She loved the way lustrous hair fell down to her back. She loved the way her chest tightened in an hourglass figure. She was extremely skinny, for beauty standards were passed on to her at an early age. She never cared about looking like the beauty standard, but she just barely had an appetite. She loved the way her 5'2" body, which by the way is tall for a 11 year old, casted a perfect shadow. She loved the clothes she wore. Her black mini skirts, black corsets, and the black bow in her hair. One may describe her style as goth, but she thought it was just peak fashion. Oh, and most of all she loved with all her heart her skin. She loved the fact that her paper white skin made her appear dead. She looked like a ghost, and that she loved. She loved when people asked her if she was okay because she looked half dead, and she loved looking in the mirror and roleplaying that she was a dead person. Sometimes she just wanted to rip all her skin off her body, and make curtains out of it. She wanted to admire it for the rest of her life. Maybe it was just because of her weird death-like fetish, but she loved how she looked dead.
Narcissa awoke from her daydream, for she still had to text Pandora. She typed a quick message, and prayed that she had credit. She did, but she didn't think about it as luck. She didn't believe in luck. A couple seconds later her phone ran.
"Hey girl. OMG I'm so sorry I was getting ready. My mom will come and pick you up in like five minutes. Be ready." Pandora's voice boomed throughout the phone.
"I am ready." Narcissa knew what she meant. She knew that Pandora takes hours getting ready, and was making fun of the fact that she could get ready in under a minute. She didn't mind though, she liked that about herself.
"Of course you are. I'm just joking! You know that I LOVE you, right?"
"Yes, of course." Narsicca was weirdly still thinking about skin. Pandora's skin was more tan than hers.
"OMG GIRL MY MOTHER JUST TEXTED ME, AND SHE IS HERE! GET IN THE CAR, SO YOU CAN SEE ME SOONER!" Pandora's annoying voice snapped her out of her imagination again. She quickly hung up the phone, and made her way downstairs. She hugged her parents goodbye, and grabbed her suitcases. Narsicca had packed all the things the night before, so the only things that she needed were books, wands, a pet, and some other weird things.
Narsicca put her things into the back of Ms. Storms car. Ms. Storm had a huge car, and it was really fancy. Narsicca didn't know what brand of car it was, for that was not her interest, but it was Ms. Storm's interest. Narsicca slid into the car, and gave Ms. Storm a faint smile. She didn't have anything against her, but she just didn't think much of her. Ms. Storm had the same scratchy voice as Pandora, and she was somehow even more talkative, and on top of that she was always shuttered in perfume, so she never really thought about getting to know her.
"How has your day been honey?" Ms. Storm muttered from the front seat. Narcissa knew that Ms. Storm felt the same way about her. Narsicca was a 11 year old goth girl that was friends with her daughter, so who would actually be excited about talking to her? However, because Narcissa isn't dumb, and somewhat knows the social rules, she decided to continue the conversation.
"It's been fine, thanks for asking. How about you, Ms. Storm?"
"Oh it's been quite excellent actually, but you may call me Linda." Narcissa flinched for a second. Ms. Storm is nice and all, but she felt that was a little too far. However, she doesn't really care, and will follow more of the social rules, and she will do what Linda asked.
"Okay Linda."
"So, are you excited for Hogwarts?" Narcissa sighs again. She doesn't want to spill the truth on some acquaintance, so again she follows the social norms.
"Yes, I'm excited. I have no idea what house I'm going to be in though." That was a lie. Both of the parts were lies. She wasn't excited to go. She was just curious on what the experience may be for one. She also did know what house she was going to get. Well, that wasn't a complete lie. She was pretty sure that she was going to get Ravenclaw, but Slytherin is another possibility. Now, she knows that she does a lot of Slytherin worthy stuff, but she was also quite smart in her opinion.
"Oh yes, I understand. Did you know that I went to Hogwarts in my day? Oh, yes it does bring back memories. The beautiful decorated hall. The dining room with lanterns floating in it. I was in Slytherin, you know? I don't fully know why myself. I know I was chatty, but it is not like I bullied anyone. Well, that Dorthy kind of had it coming. Anyway, oh I was so popular and chatty. I made so many good friends. I tried to reconnect with some of them after the experience, but for some reason they will not call me back. Sorry honey, I have been ranting for a while. What house do you want to be in?" Narcissa shot Linda a look of disgust. This is why she didn't want to talk with her. She also just realized how similar her and Pandora are. Well, except Pandora wasn't really mean.
"Um, I think Ravenclaw?"
"Oh honey, not Ravenclaw. You are basically asking to be bullied. You little nerd." she chuckled to herself before continuing. "Listen honey, I think you would make an excellent Slytherin!" Narcissa found herself getting angry. Now she definitely didn't want to be a Slytherin. Which was sad because she definitely had a lot of potential to be one.
"Um, do you know what house Pandora wants to be in?" Narsicca asked. She didn't want to do this small talk anymore, but she had to because it would be rude to stop talking. Also, she was going to ask Pandora this question, but then she had to leave the call, so she figured it would be nice to find that out now.
"Oh, yes I do. She has been harping about Hogwarts all morning. She is very split. She basically wants to go to all the houses, it's quite cute. Well, all the houses besides Ravenclaw. I told her that it's a nerdy house, and that's all she needed to hear." Narcissa laughed in her head. She found it amusing that Pandora thought she could get into Ravenclaw. She may have been popular, but she was lacking a lot of smarts. I mean, don't take it the wrong way. Pandora didn't really care about that stuff. On the other hand, Narcissa has always had phenomenal grades, and also been top of her class.
Before Narcissa can ask another question they pull up to Linda's house. Pandora's house is the biggest house in the neighborhood, and it is four stories tall with an elevator. They enter the main floor. Narcissa is immediately hit with the smell of gucci perfume, and she is blinded by the color pink. Before she knows it, Narcissa is wrapped in a huge bear hug from Pandora. And before she can pull away from that Pandora decides to do the lovely French tradition of la bise with Narsicca. They all head to the transporting fire thing that Narcissa forgot was called, and through the dust.
Suddenly, Narcissa, Pandora, and Linda are transported to Diagon Alley. The first stop that they went to was the wand shop. Narcissa got a 11" ebony wand  with a phoenix feather core, and Pandora got a 9" spruce wand with dragon heartstring core. For animals, Narcissa got a barn owl and Pandora got a Persian cat.
